I’ll be arriving August 10th and leaving August 23rd. I was going to stay a few days longer but a family obligation came up. I’ll be at Winchester Bay August 12th thru the 17th. From the 17th on I’m game for checking out Coos Bay, Florence....and whatever. To simple put it I’m game for anything after the Winchester meet up. When I arrive on the 10th I’d like to visit LED and FULLBORE. On the 11th I’m gonna head to Kevin’s place and then off to Winchester.
For sure I’d like to visit ESR. Hopefully Mr. Sanders make it to the meet up.

Sounds like a good time.

Your R will be ready & waiting for your epic Oregon adventure Joe! I'm hoping I can join you for at least a day trip at one of the other dune area's. Maybe Sandlake if your up to going to Oregon's smallest dunes. Sandlake can get boring kind of fast but its a special place to me because it's the closest dunes to me & the place I spent most of my young life.
-
My last trip out i went straight from the airport to FullBore and the LED to visit Arlan. Jesse and Arlan were super cool! I gave both of them a call letting them know i was going to stop by and purchase some parts. Both gave me tours of their shops. Was a great experience. ill post pictures later.

I don’t think I’m gonna make it this year, Joe. Have a great trip!

That's how it starts Joe. Next thing you know you will be shacked up with some local gal and you will never leave!

Even though I was more of a ghost last year, I enjoyed meeting many of you. I won't be able to make it this year. Hopefully next year will be different for me, as I really enjoy the coast.

Man I would love to find a way to do this at some point in my life. https://www.facebook.com/wildwooddunesOR/ has a few 5 acre parcels left that back right up to Winchester Bay dunes..
-
I saw those lots last time I was in Winchester bay! Unfortunately I am not a high roller!
-
That’s some location, what are those 5 acre parcels listed at?
-
Starts at $290k. That's lunch money for most of you

Yeah they ARE a LOT of money but the access is pretty rad (and not much of it for Winchester).
What dates is everyone else going to be down there? I was hoping we could show Joe some of Florence and/or Spinreel to Coos.. Anybody up for showing Joe those riding areas say Wed the 12 & Thurs the 13?
-
I will be there the 12th. Not sure how I can get to any of the other dunes....
-
Dune access is mega baller. Could go in with some friends and buy it. Rent it out when not in use. Could possibly pull a profit. I think UPP and fullbore have some dune access properties
-
Friend of mine has dune access property at Winchester Bay. They r there right now. It’s just an open lot but his parents plan to build a home there eventually.
-
Just a place to wash off the sand and take a shower would be pretty sweet
-
@Joe - sounds like Friday could be a good day to get down to Spinreel and show you the place (or at least the morning half day anyways). Gene has his trailer and I will have mine. So we can throw a few bikes in there.
-
looks like im going to miss out on a epic adventure this year:(
-
Next year Josh! Hopefully we will be ready for some normalcy!

Great trip!!!! A Big THANK YOU to the ORG crew for making the trip one hell of a time. Loren and family and friends, Kevin and family, Ryan, Gene and friends, Tony and Jared(great meeting you Jared). Good to meet Damon also. The friendships and welcoming atmosphere is truly amazing. I consider you guys as FAMILY!! Great meeting all the new guys that attended also. Lots of shop talk going on everywhere. Unfortunately I don't remember many names of the new guys. The meet and great lunch was a hit (thanks for cooking Loren/Friends for making sides/Ryan for supplying the dogs)
Rode Florence Dunes with Loren and his boys then went to Winchester for the meet up. So cool seeing more and more R's roll in daily. Quad was doing good until it finally said no more lol (during the Saturday group ride). Things happen and actually I'm glad it happened then instead of during the week when I would have been riding alone.
I visited LED's shop (great meeting Arlan and KC Reed). I visited ESR's shop (thanks Eddie), I visited Fullbore (thanks Taylor), I also visted Tony's (Pumashine) shop (thanks Tony). It was so cool that the gentleman took time out of their busy work day to talk and give a tour. It was cool that KC Reed from LED made the meet up.
I drove 1900 miles in 11 days. Traveled the whole coast (HWY 101) from California to Washington State. Spent some time driving inland (Oregon to see the sights). Wonderful part of the country. Great little towns. No set plans...I just drove and stopped (then repeat lol). Can't wait to do it again!!!

Hey Joe, glad to hear the rest of the trip was awesome! What was your favorite part / best beach town of the non-dune portion? And did you make it to the Goonie's house?
This year's meetup was one for the books! Really great to see so many of us together in one place enjoying the 250R!

Ryan, all the little towns were cool. Sea Side was cool...super busy. Long Beach Washington was nice as was the other many stops I made (don’t recall the names lol). I spent a night in Astoria having a few drinks with the locals. I went to see the Goonies house but it’s privately owned with signs up so I didn’t walk up the drive way to see it. I didn’t want to get arrested for trespassing lol.

I heard they actually shut the goodies house down to tourists a few years back because of people not respecting the property

Good to hear Joe, glad you checked out some of the towns - Seaside / Haystack Rock @ Cannon Beach is a top attraction at the Oregon Coast. Already looking forward to next year!
