I just wanted to share with everyone that there is a suspension guy located near Longview Washington. His name is Craig Bowman (CB Racing). Craig has been building suspension for the local MX guys for 30+ years.
I just had him build a rear shock for my R and it turned out fantastic! Let me know if you would like his contact information.

Rebuild or revalve?

New spring, valves, and seals. So rebuilt and re-valved.

I'd like his contact info. What made you select a different spring? How did he determine the spring rate?

After I bought my R in 2012 I lengthened my swingarm. The shock I had was set up for a rider 100# less than me and for a stock 86 swingarm. I told Craig how much I weigh and the swingarm length. He determined what spring I needed. This Monday will be my first opportunity to try it out.

So I spent a week out in the dunes with my newly rebuilt OEM rear shock. This shock has a totally different feel than the shock that I was running before. Craig Bowman did a fantastic job. The rear shock soaked up a lot of whoops and the jump landings. I am not much for big air anymore so I don't know how it would take a 10 footer with 285lbs of man on board, but the modest air I did get tested the shock and the performances was perfect. When launching during some drag racing the rear of my R didn't squat that much and felt planted.
Overall I am very happy with my $430 rebuild and would recommend CB racing suspension to anyone.
