Title: Gearing question
Post by: evaneyeball on November 10, 2020, 01:26:52 PM
So I am getting a 350 kit with dune port from arlen this winter mabey even this month he made it sound like he isnt backed up too bad. And right now I have stock gearing and have no idea where to start with it. I know its going to be alot of just playing with it and seeing what I like but what would a good base line be I guess. Just a point to start from .

Stock gearing would be a good baseline until you get used to the new mill.

Our gearing calculator, found here: (http://trx250r.org/GearRatioCalculator.html), can help give some insight into speed per gear/tire differences.  Tire size will affect final gear ratio and paddle # will affect load so take that into consideration.  I run 14-38 on the 443 and 13-38 (or maybe 39) on the 363.  I think Kevin is right - stock gearing is good place to start, but you will likely be able to jump up at least a whole front tooth.
