Title: Restored or ????
Post by: ytman on December 17, 2020, 05:35:10 PM
Soooo.....should dings and dents in the bottom of a-arms be filled(welded) and ground or left alone before powder? I wouldn’t want anyone to think I was covering up history.

What’s the history on the quad??? Was the quad an old race machine?

Yes. Before I started putting aluminum guards on they took a few hits. The p.o. put a couple on there before I bought the quad also. They’re early Roll Bros. Even before DRD&D.

Roll Bros. that’s very cool.  I do like seeing an unrestored quad (battle scars included). Any other rare parts on this quad? Pics of quad?

So back to your original question....if it’s going to be a true show quad displaying parts if they were bought new I’d fill and grind/blend.  If the intent is to show a true rare survivor/rider I would leave it.

The quad has no real historical value. It’s just parts all over the place now. These are +1 1/2” wider and +1” forward with some giant bushings and seals with indexed ball joints. Back then Roll welded washers with two flat sides to automotive tie rod ends and notched the tube they went into to keep them from turning. I’ll sell them eventually. They’re pretty burley.
