Honda lists 2 part numbers for R kickers. 28300-HA2-670 and 28300-HB9-770. Physically they are close in size but not exact. First let’s look at minor cosmetics. The HA2 has 01 cast in the arm and is held together with a silver colored bolt. The HB9 has HB9 cast into it and is held together with a black colored bolt. Also notice the 01 and HB9 are cast on different sides of said arms.

The biggest dimensional difference is in the arm base where it connects to the knuckle. The HA2 measures 1.088 wide while the HB9 measures 1.150 wide.

Whichever is less likely to scratch my clutch cover is the one I want to run😁

Interesting, another thing I never knew about the kick starters! Josh for that requirement, Joe & Kevin have a different knuckle for you!

I do believe the was covered but can someone please give me a refresher? What kicker combo will space out the kicker the furthest from the clutch cover?

Josh, I’m pretty sure we don’t have a very detailed thread answering your question. I’ll continue searching. If anything I’ll make a new thread.

1986 ATC250R had neither the 01 nor the HB9 cast in it. Interesting I think. I’d love to know his that came about.
At least on the engine I have...a take out.
