Title: Super clean one owner 86 for sale!
Post by: broken1 on August 11, 2013, 06:46:12 PM
Found this looking on the local craigslist, it's in Corvallis Oregon. It's an extremely nice looking 250R & if I had the money this would be sitting in my garage!
I just hope that a 250R enthusiast like one of us get's a hold of this gem.

is there any rules against a raffle with extra proceeds to go to the site?

something like 100 tickets $50 each and the money above the buying price is to the site?

Raffles are kinda like lottery tickets they have to be regulated. We had thought about it before but did not want to get in trouble.

So I told my sister about this bike. Her Blue 86 has had the hell ridden out of it for the last ten years. Replaced most everything on it. She came over and called the seller. Seller called back in about 15 minutes. The bike was still available so we drove 40 miles to Corvallis and she bought it. Mint condition. Has not been ridden since 2007. Not one rusty bolt on the entire bike. Looks like it came from the showroom with a season of riding. Best freaking R I have ever personally seen. A special thanks to Kevin for the heads up. The owners were happy it was going to a respectful home.

I'm also happy you guys got it and not some punk kid or someone that does not appreciate it.  Ride the crap out of it and then park it in the corner trashed.

Maintenance is part of the riding schedule. You won't see anything we own trashed. She plans on taking the Hydraulic clutch, pipe, twist throttle, perfect blue gas tank off her other bike and making this one better!

Glad to see a nice R going to a good home.  My sisters gave up riding a long time ago, but my oldest sister used to ride an 81 atc250R.  That thing put her on her butt so many times.  She would pop the clutch and bam!  On her butt.  The clutch was stiff and her hands were small.  We ran it in the pismo dunes with the stock balloon tires.  It would literally go straight up, dump her off, and back down with out moving forward.  Hilarious.

I'm really glad that this R went to a good home & that it will be well taken care of. I hope that some day I'll get to see it ripping around at winchester so I can check it out in person because the blue/white R's are my favorite. Tony, did you take any pic's of it that you could share?

We did not go to take pics :sign0108:Were picking it up at noon today. the tank has turned from blue to green. The motor is so perfect looks like its out of the crate. I think she is going to put the nice blue tank I got off ebay a few years ago on it. Will get some good pics soon.

I think my sentance came out the wrong way.  I meant that's what someone else might do to it that doesn't appreciate it like you guys will.  Wish I had a stocker that clean.

When I read the ad it seemed a little weird, to me, that the gas tank looked so bad, when the rest of the bike was clean.
