Clutch actuator arm modification.  Not the best pic but easy enough to understand what has been done.

Additional stock cylinder sleeve protection during storage or shipping.  Take the core from a used up roll of packing/shipping/duct tape.  I remember seeing this tip many years ago.

I never put a vent in the magneto cover, but I have put drain plugs in a lot of covers.   I would put the  drain plug in the lowest part of the cover and removed the plug after the bike has been ridden in water or after it is washed.  I would leave the drain plug out and install it just before the next ride.  It allows any moisture that may have leaked in around the wire sheath or wire grommet to evaporate.

I have worked on many 250Rs that had a good mag cover gasket and wire grommet that had a completely destroyed mag side crank seal.  The bike ran fine and did not have any symptoms of an air leak.  For this reason would not put a vent on the cover that was open to the atmosphere when the engine is running.

Makes sense. Thanks Jerry for your input.  Greatly appreciated.

If you ever need to FIX a Bent or crushed Foot Peg.....Here's a simple tip!
Take a M8 fully threaded bolt......insert it into the hole in the middle of the peg....or where the bend is.

Install a nut....screw it through the nut.....and then install a 2nd nut......thread it through so the threads come out the other side of the peg.

Now using a wrench.....tighten the first nut against the peg and then the 2nd nut.....using it like a spreader to push out the dent!

VOILA!

LOOKS LIKE NEW!

If you lose the discontinued collar that goes with the bolt that holds your front OEM fender in place.....no worries...just replace it with this HONDA Part#90104-MEN-A30.....It has the shoulder built into it!

:D

I recognize that rear MC :) It's been working 4 years now with the Suzuki push-rod & had no issues.

If you're looking for the rubber grommets that go on the frame pegs to support the front of the Air Box (Honda Part#  19032-HB9-000 - DISCONTINUED) Item# 28 on the Air Cleaner fiche - Have no fear! YAMAHA has a grommet that works perfectly!

YAMAHA Part# 90480-12053-00

If your exhaust flange has no spring mounts you can use some #428 chain side plates.  Drill and bend as needed.

Another faulty CDI fix is to heat it in the oven.
