Posting the difference in oem sprocket covers.  This is the 1985 atc250r.

This is 1986 atc250r and 1986/87 trx250r

1988/89 trx250r.  Same  styling as the 86/87 but the hose (carburetor) clip is welded on instead of bolted on as the previous years.
