It's cool seeing things continually evolving for the R. Years ago there was a builder in I believe it was Gresham Or. named Jim Dunken (JD Racing) that built wicked banshee engines. He also did R engines & built one for a good friend & I remember seeing a rectangle shaped window in the piston. I had that done to a 67mm Wiseco by James Dodge awhile back.

Building two stroke engines was a hobby of Jim Duncan's. His real job was being a dentist and dental lab owner/operator. He had plenty of cool porting tools already in his dental lab when he started porting two strokes. I supplied him with alcohol carburetors and gave him tons of technical advice.
