Odd. My first guess is photo shop .  But It’s got the plastic engine skid they switched to in 88… hmm

'86 Hubs and an '86 frame ???

But it has the '88 Aluminum swingarm ???

Cool post Joe! I have this same issue & the following year with the 89 but the 89 isn't a conglomeration of years like the "88" on this cover.
