Title: TRX450R wires setup on Trx250r
Post by: Vegas_Trx250r on March 02, 2022, 11:04:31 AM
I was wondering if anyone converted the TRX450r wiring to a TRX250r? I only ask because the CDI for TRX250r is so hard to find these days.

I’m thinking your asking about a complete trx450 electrical system on a trx250R?  It won’t work.  Yes oem Trx250r cdi’s are hard to find and expensive when you do find them.  If used you can only hope they work.  I’ve seen used ones sell for $200-$250 lately.  I’ve seen a few new sell for about $500.

I’d go with a Zeeltronic CDI (then send your stator to Dave Moore).

A 4-stroke ignition triggers half as fast as a 2-stroke ignition

Joe is spot on. Zeel has a programmable CDI, that you can fine tune for your application, and can run 2 different maps on. You can switch tunes by a selector on the handlebars. You very likely are already running, resistor plugs, but with the Zeel you want to make sure you do. If you have a "R" in your plug number then it should be a resistor plug.
