So I have a few Paul Turner pipes in my heap of 250r treasures, but have never ran one. I have 2 that say TRX RACE and one that is a HI-REV. I know that the hi rev is a light switch pipe but I do not know anything about these RACE pipes other than they are probably for MX.
Is there a difference between the 89 RACE and a plain old TRX RACE? Where do they have power and where do lack power (bottom/mid/top)?
Any experience and information you can share would be greatly appreciated.

Are both your race pipes the same or is one an 89 race pipe? I have an 89trx race & would like to see side by side pics of the different PT race pipes.... I'm thinking the differences between the race series is going to be in how long the straight section is, kind of like how the LRD pipes are adjustable in that area for different rpm characteristics.

Both my PT race pipes say TRX RACE. I have a cousin who has a 89trx race that I could probably compare to

I had an 89 race back in the day. I was not impressed with it on a stockish 88 with stock ports. I put my pt race back on. That "race " predated the "89" pipe. It was more pipey and made more power. I still have that collectors item if you're interested. ;)

I have a “2003” pipe…if I recall correctly. Came with a Duncan cylinder.

Im currently running the 89race with a csfx silencer. This pipe is incredible with low end and mid range power and response, and is great in the woods. The throttle response is instant, but it signs off pretty early, and needs to be short shifted to get the most out of it on my setup. I have heard the other models rev out a little better than the 89.
