A couple days ago I picked up a couple 81 atc250r's on marketplace. They came in boxes, both motors disassembled. Just the way I like em😂. One 81 motor and the others a 84, there's not enough for 2 complete whole bikes but close. And I've built a few really nice bikes before but I'm going full show bike on this one just cause I can. Figured I'd post on here just to see what yall think of it. The first two pictures of how I got it and the third is a much up I have of the powder coating I've done on the 84 motor. I'll be assembling it tomorrow.

Cool project. I have a few aircooled trikes.Im building a couple more. One is an 82 drag build I'm using a 300r with a trx 450r swingarm conversion and 200x frontend. You have the head on backwards.
-
I know I have the head on backwards it was just mocked up lol. This one also has a 200x front end conversion. I have really been liking the air-cooled ones recently
-
I like my aircooled Rs as much as my liquids.I have a couple 200xs aswell.
-
Just buttoned up the 84 motor for the most part. And have a bunch of other frame stuff powdercoated just waiting for me to powdercoat other stuff then assemble.

I have everything either ordered or have a plan for everything except the suspension. Its 200x front forks and the stock rear shock, who does everyone recommend to have them rebuilt, preferably in the Oregon area. I called factory connection suspension in Milwaukie and they don't do it.
-
I dont think it will make it to the winchester ride and if it does it won't be finished. I cant find a rear brake cable anywhere and also a 200x front caliper but I got the motor in finally and all the plastics mounted to the seat and front end. Its coming together slowly.

Trike is looking good!... Do you have the old rear brake you could use to take measurements to find an alternative?
-
I ended up finding a replacement and will be here soon. All its waiting on now really is rear shock to be done and front brakes . And a bunch of little stuff but mostly that.

Today is hopefully the final day of buttoning up this project and listing it for sale. I got to take it to Riley ranch and ride it around. It did great, couldn't be happier with it

Super clean machine. My 2 cents, considering the rarity, I'd keep it.

Thanks. I'd really like to keep it but I've got my 86 and I'm getting into drag racing so something has to go.
