Title: Rear Axle
Post by: Vegas_Trx250r on July 26, 2022, 07:51:48 AM
I bought a new rear axle, swing arm, and bearing case. Do I grease the axle before I install it into the bearing case?

New to the ground up build.

I always do.  Don’t forget to grease the rotor hub splines and nut threads.

Yes grease the axle and the splines. It makes life easier when doing a future teardown and will also make the splines last a little longer.

So, I headed the axle up. Do I need to compress the axle into the bearing carrier?

The axle bearings are a slip fit so the axle should slide right into the carrier.

Kind of what he said above, I actually just installed the same exact axle in all their same parts and nothing extra was needed.  Just greased and slid right in.
