Hey guys, Name is Ken. Picked up my first ever TRX250R (86). Starting to tear it down to do a build over the winter. Came off Yamaha bikes and quads. Banshees, Raptor, YFZ, YZ, etc… Always wanted a 250r and finally decided it was time for a change🤙🏻

Welcome aboard Ken. We are here to help as needed or just watch your progress. Either way glad you are here. I hope you have as much fun building your R as I have had with mine.

Hey, thanks Loren! I’ll definitely need all the help i can get. These 250s are all new to me👍🏻

Hey and welcome! Nice looking R - what are first up on the mod list?
-
Hey! Thanks! Right now, I’m getting all the little stuff out of the way. Cables, handle bars, an arms, swing arm, plastics, etc. basically everything needed for the build. This week I’ll be taking the frame to have it blasted bare and then I’ll be welding gussets in place for extra strength. Aside from that (this week) just hunting down a reasonably priced set of cases. Mine had chain wack where a case saver would mount.

Parts hunting is always a (fun) process! For the cases, can you repair it or is the damage too much?

Looks like it could be repaired. Know anyone who can?

That's totally repairable. I have had Pete at hybrid engineering fix worse.

Would you happen to have their contact info? I googled it and 10 different ones popped up.
Good to hear about these. I was actually getting ready to buy some ESR cases and do a whole new build. But if i can fix these and build this as well. I wouldn’t mind having both on hand.

I'll PM you Pete's number

Like Loren says, that can be fixed. Pete does great work.
