Title: 2023 TX4
Post by: atvmxr on January 20, 2023, 11:47:56 AM
Thought I would start a new thread for the new season.  First race of the season is this saturday.  The Vintage class seems to have gotten alot of peoples attention so I expect it to be one of the largest classes if everyone actually shows up.

forecast has been all over the place with temps and rain amounts.  Now it looks maybe just a light rain in the morning and temps around 50.  Its Texas so who knows what will happen.

The have been working on this course alot, supposed to be about a 5 mile loop.  One of the premier ranches for XC racing in the central TX area.

Awards ceremony for 2022 season will be Saturday evening.  Hopefully have some nice goodies for being #1!

How long are the races typically? Are you doing 1 moto or 2? Nice work on second!

practice 10:15-11, race at 11:30.  The race is 60 minutes +.  Clock starts when first group leaves and counts down to 0.  If there is any time left you go for another lap.  laps have been anywhere from 9 to 18 minutes, but usually its around 10-12 minutes.

Thank you for info. Sixty minutes is a long moto! Are you running xc setup on your chassis? My current setup is mx, so I'm pretty wide. I am guessing you use an oversized tank also.

stock frame, a-arms, swinger, axle, motor.  mods are SF Racing PEPs all around, fmf pipe, Q silencer, zeel ignition, no airbox lid, larger tank, and a 35 AS carb. Nearly everyone else is racing 50" MX setups with 310 ish motors.

I appreciate the info. I have work to do if I expect to run at 60+ minutes. My forearms are crying just thinking about it
