How do you plug/ seal off the exhaust side?

Intake I presume a 1.5” pvc fitting goes on intake boot with a hose clamp

What I have seen is the exhaust manifold is removed. Plate with rubber gasket is installed.

Possible a radiator hose would fit on the exhaust manifold and use a PVC plug .

I leave the exhaust flange on & cap it with a rubber pipe plug from home depot. I built my tester to connect to the intake so I could have the reed cage & spacer installed to be able to test those gaskets as well. I've had air leaks around both the exhaust flanges & reed spacers so now I always test with them in place.

I do the same as Kevin, test as many gaskets as possible while you are doing the test.

Get yourself a #9 rubber expansion plug :)

Pool stores have these for winterizing
