Title: Well, it finely happened
Post by: C-Leigh Racing on August 15, 2013, 02:10:09 PM
After 23 years in business & owning my own shop, somebody cut the loop for the pad lock on the walk in door & broke in.
Who ever it was, like they knew directly what they wanted & got just about every piece I had to a 1988 LT250R Suzuki engine.
I was rebuilding it for CorvetteZO6.
Bottom end is painted Charcoal Gray Matalic in color. ( like the color on L head  block 5HP Briggs & Stratton kart engines.
So if you see on the net or E bay, somebody looking for an 88 year cylinder, flywheel cover & bolts or a water pump cover, they might be a good suspect to my bandit.

Other items taken.
New, ESR 330PV complete cylinder kit= cylinder has some slight dings on the reed mount gasket surface & the Wiseco piston box is a bit ruff looking where is been handled so much.

New, ESR 310 cylinder casting= no sleeve installed, just the casting, but they took the new replacement sleeve for it, so be looking out for somebody wanting the sleeve installed.
New, 88 year LT250R Suz, LA Sleeve #FL-5064 replacement sleeve & new Wiseco #571MO6700 piston kit.

Used & ported, but junk, water leaker Honda TRX450R head, that was laying on the bench with the ESR & Suzuki stuff.

I got my suspects here close to me I'm thinking about, so I'm following my ol hillbilly blood hound nose.
Everybody that knows me for many miles around, knows if they are in need of something, I'll help them out if I got to give it to them, so it dont make no sense that somebody would break into my place.
Same thing at my house, you come visit me, if you came hungry, you'll not leave hungry.
Neil

yeah thats terrible Neil. I hope they are caught and you get your stuff back. Its a shame that people like corvettez06 got up in it too.

Well, my stuff they took, if I get it back so be it, because I look at it like this, good Lord allowed me to have it & if he dont want me to have anymore, thats how it will be, but I really would like to get CorvetteZO6 stuff back to do right by him.

Dam Neil that's bullshit. This sounds like an "inside job" to me. An ex-customer who knows where your place is and know what type of business you do, someone who called or showed up to your shop but didn't purchase anything. They knew exactly what they were coming for when they broke in.

Sorry to hear about this. I know how it feels because my first 250r was stolen from me. People that do stuff like that get jammed up eventually one way or another.

Man that sucks Neil, sorry to hear that. That is one reason why I really have a hard time leaving my quads somewhere else than close to me. That is what I hate the most the people who work there but off for what they got and do and other people just come and take it all and don't think twice but how much money they can get out of it. I hope they are caught and delt with correctly and you get your stuff back.

Well its gone now as gone can be, & that 310 cylinder I was going to sleeve up.

I been working the last two days, fixing some old timey type locks for the doors. Next bandit might can cut the lock off, but they'll need something bigger than their body to break the door down.
Working on a new type alarm system as well, horns blowing & lights flashing, will be sure to wake up everybody within a 1/4 mile.

"Karmas a b*tch!" Don't believe in that one either. This one is always true for me, "Nice guys finish last."
People see good people as "chump" or "puss" or someone to take advantage of. There are alot of "ugly" people in this world.

Tell you what, next bandit comes & wants to break in, they better bring something to do it with, because they wont be doing it with just their hands & it wont be easy.

My fault & I'm kicking myself over it, guess I was to trusting of everybody coming in my shop.

I had the same problem in the garage at my house. One morning there is a path of ATV tires and other stuff leading to the back yard and around the house. Boarded up the window and nailed the back door shut. 16 penny lockout

Oh yeah, when I get done with my new locking up plan in place up, they better bring a Bulldozier. It wont be easy or quick to break in.

sorry about this bad news.  its probably someone addicted to drugs or someone you know with financial issues.  they usually live close by and/or know you.  shouldnt be too difficult to find.  especially when they try and fence the parts.  best of luck catching the bum(s).

I hate thieves!!!!!  I went and got one of those cameras that sends pictures through an internet router to your smartphone everytime it senses movement.  The cheaper ones that dont pan are only around 65 bucks and a nicer one can be had for around 150.  If I have to worry about thieves I really want to find out who it is.  Locks only keep honest people out.  If someone really wants to get in they usually will.  Good luck finding the bandit and hope they get hung by the nads.

In some parts of the Muslim world they cut the hands off thieves.  It is a little more lenient punishment than I prefer but it's a start.
