Interesting find on the slight differences on the 1986/87 Trx250r rear seat lock plate. I’ve looked at the parts diagrams if not once but 100’s of times and still I find small differences.
1986
#2 on the parts diagram: Plate, seat lock #50223-HB9-000
#10 on the parts diagram: Plate, seat lock #80102-HB9-000
1987
#2 on the parts diagram: Plate, seat lock #50223-HB9-670
#10 on the parts diagram: Plate, seat lock #80102-HB9-670
Notice that the “plate, seat lock” is named for both the latch bracket and the catch.
The 86 catch is on the left and the 87 catch is on the right. One bolt and a locating boss on the 86 and 2 bolts for the 87
