Author Topic: FWC hood w/ Maier 2 piece fronts...help? (Read 1938 times)

On the Maier 2 piece front fenders, there are 6 slots (3 on each side) for mounting the FWC hood on. Should these "slots" of the front plastics have a rubber grommet or insert in them? I bought the fenders new and they didn't come w/ anything and the mounting bolts that came w/ the hood are small enough that they can slip through... I'm assuming they need grommets or something?

I swear mine came with the clips. You can get auto clips at Lowes for sure and probably Home Depot.

yes the hood came w/ clips on it... so the bolt can thread into the hood... but I just thought there should still be something around the slot on the maier fender?? Can anyone post a pic of the underside of their FWC hood on Maier 2 piece if you have one??

No i dont have anything in the slot, i use a small fender washer on all 6 bolts. Works great until you crash, then the mounting tabs on the hood break. Whoops. I currently use 2 bolts on each side of the hood and have fiberglass or glued on every one of the mounting tabs on the FWC hood.

i have nothing on my 6 slots also ,,,,the hood bolts up to the fenders with the clips provided, but the open slots on the side serve no purpose i guess,,,,
