ESR Rear Brake Pedal
« on: March 27, 2014, 08:38:22 PM »
Has anyone used a ESR rear brake pedal on an 86 frame?  I just got one and it fits on the frame no problems, but I have found that it hits the stock 86 foot peg  mount.. almost a half inch of material from the foot peg mount hangs out into the path of the brake pedal.  Anyone have any suggestions...  Did I order the wrong one for my year of frame or is this common and needs some modification done to the foor peg mount?

Thanks

I just installed one the other day and I used a grinder to take down some of that weld.

Ran the older style on 2 different 86 frames without issue.

I had a similar problem with a 87 frame and a hinson rear brake pedal.. I ended up using two longer grade 10 bolts and two 3/8" thick washers to move the foot peg out to clear. I couldn't tell I moved the peg at all.

Thanks guys.  It looks like i can take quite a bit of the weld off of the footpeg mount without causing any harm, just have to repaint it after.
