Hey Zcarlson12... I ran TRX 250r's in the late 90's early 2000's and went to the dark side as you call it. In 2004 I built a PRP CRF 450 with a 2002 CRF power plant. This was a sweet ride as it had 250r geometry and gobs of torque. Excellent quad for aggressive trail riding. It did however feel slightly heavier (which it was) over my 250r's. A few problems I had with the Hybrid were. Pipe was an issue where it tucked in by the silencer. Slowly melted the original Honda 250r plastic that was on this quad even with exhaust wrap.:disturbed: I also run a lot of miles per year (2500-3000) and I had to re shim the valves every 50 hours. That was a pain, but that is modern 4 stroke reality. When it starts starting hard when cold it's probably time to check the valves. Around 2007 we rebuilt the engine and I did end up putting a 2006 Crf 450 piston which bumped up the compression to 11.5-1. I also replaced the valves with Kibblewhite stainless steel valves which have held up well. All in all the PRP CRF hybrid was a sweet ride and I had a lot of fun with the quad but it was time to go back to the 88 TRX 250R for me. My son who is now 14, sold his 250EX and bought a 88 TRX 250 R last summer. He is learning to wrench on them also which is a sweet thing. Anyway, I don't think you will be sorry you have an CRF Hybrid in your arsenal, but don't sell your Laeger 310R.
