85/86 ATC250R take outs and the unicorn 87ATC250R

I recently seen a post questioning if take out (never ran) engines are in fact that….never ran and taken out at the dealership.  Doing some research here’s a good start for some reading:

2014/2015 seemed to be the height of when “take out” engines were parted…here’s a few examples.

^^^ never seen one with a cut exhaust.

If you zoom in you can still see the blue paint mark on the clutch actuator.
