Lounge / Letting others ride your stuff?
« on: March 04, 2017, 07:50:16 PM »
I don't like to ride other people's stuff, I have bad luck with that shit.  Some people's loaner stuff is half broke already and I don't want to be blamed when it let's loose on me lol.  That said only my real friends who I know can ride well touch my R.  The twist throttle throws people off.  Everyone can ride my blaster tho

That seems pretty rich for a stock carb.  Might be compensating for the exhaust leaks leaning out the mixture but causing a fat pilot circuit.  What is the elevation?

ATC250R / Jetting for ct pipe
« on: September 15, 2016, 10:42:42 AM »
I live about 2000ft and I use stock jetting.  48 pilot and ~150 main, air screw is 1 1/2 out I think.  This jetting worked for the FMF that it came with and the CT national I put on.  My lid is off though and I have a RAD valve which calls for 1 size smaller main.  Hope that helps.  To tell you the truth I would verify what needle you have because that can make a huge difference.

Body and Controls / What seat is this and what it's value?

^^agreed.  They should be able to do whatever color you want.  I went to a local guy and I think it was like 50-60 bucks.  He just had to sand my foam a bit

I did have high hopes for BDT since Carlos is knowledgable and active on the forums, in fact I thought he might be my new guy for motors.  His eBay clown and the male receptionist that answered BDT were far less than helpful.

That probably was Carlos lol

Lounge / Why don't you ever see 250r's out on the track?
« on: June 17, 2016, 08:25:35 PM »
One time I was riding with some people and a guy riding a rzr asked me "what is that ping ping thing".  I nearly spit out my water laughing.  I don't think he had ever heard a 2 stroke.

I got a custom one made for me by terrycable.  It was for a magura twist off an old ktm to a 38 AS on my 86.  If they could pull that off I think they could do anything.  Motion pro wanted me to mail them my carb, throttle, and cable or they wouldn't guarantee it.

Body and Controls / Rear light compatability question
« on: June 09, 2016, 01:23:07 PM »
Well it works.  It was actually quite easy.  I went with an aftermarket light and fabbed up a little bracket to make up the space to the original bracket.

I took the easy route and put it in the same circuit as the oem taillight which means I need to have one of my sets of headlights on for it to work which I'm ok with.  Also I made it even easier by only going off the rear brakes.  I used a banjo bolt that also controls an electrical flow with two leads on it.  It can be done to go off the front brakes as well but I didn't do it.  I am very "risk adverse" when it comes to messing with a 30 yr old wiring harness and don't want to mess it up.  I used the original bullet connectors heading to the oem taillight and ran one power and ground directly to the light with an additional power going to the banjo switch and then to the stop light.
