That is correct.  Full hookups or dry camp at Idaho Dunes RV.  1/4-1/2 mile sand trail to dunes (not hard on paddles). $45/night with tax plus $3 showers so that seemed steep.

If I were going on a non-holiday weekend the state campground at Egin Lakes would be closer to the big dunes and they have a decent parts store.  Only problem is you can't reserve at the state campgrounds.

Idaho Dunes RV since they take reservations.  State campgrounds are first come and word on the street is you need to be there 3 days prior to a big weekend.  The state campground at Egin Lakes would be first choice if possible though.

Low humidity, heat wasn't bad even though it broke 90 a few days.  I sweat more when it's 80 degrees in Oregon.  We splashed around in Egin lakes a couple afternoons.  Should have drove 10 minutes and jumped off the bridge in to the river.

The riding was second to none!  Held that throttle so long around the big dunes.  One roller coaster ride after another and we accidentally ended up at the other end (Choke Cherry) before we knew it.  Sand is more clean than Glamis and so much bigger than Oregon Coast or Utah.

The wind was a bit intense during the afternoons but it kept the dunes smooth.  Does the wind always blow so hard midday?

Didn't think we'd need to trailer to the bigger dunes.  Dang.  I do enjoy finding jumps/gaps, from what I hear Egin Lakes area is best for that

Anyone heading to St A's this weekend?  Embarking on the 3500 mile journey now but most of its flying.

This is my last place on the dune punch list west of the Rockies, first time this weekend.  Any advice on where to beat the heat?  We'll stay at Dunes RV, sounds like you can wade around Egin lakes but are there better places to swim within a short drive?

Is Choke Cherry the main gathering/show off spot?  Any other must see spots while we are there?

Please let me know if Pumashine hooks you up.  That's the only one I could find and I was planning to measure my resi's next week before contacting him.

Here is the link to the product on their site:

Body and Controls / Need Cable for CR250r twist grip to 39mm PWK
« on: June 17, 2016, 09:24:17 PM »
Cool thanks, I'll call motion pro direct.  I really don't feel like I am reinventing the wheel with this application but can't find a salesman to help if the answer is not right in front of his nose.  Sudco assumed a TRX400ex would be the same as my TRX250R with a PWK, I think he just felt happy for matching the "trx" part.

Carb parts has seriously had a busy signal from early till late then after hours I can leave a message.  They had no problems setting up my latest gen CR's with airstrikers and I'm pretty sure they know their stuff.

I did have high hopes for BDT since Carlos is knowledgable and active on the forums, in fact I thought he might be my new guy for motors.  His eBay clown and the male receptionist that answered BDT were far less than helpful.

Body and Controls / Need Cable for CR250r twist grip to 39mm PWK
« on: June 17, 2016, 01:26:27 PM »
First Question: is there a knowledgeable shop that I can call that will answer their phone and research the answer if needed?  BDT just said "no", carb parts warehouse has rang busy for 2 days, pj motorsports is gone till next week but still unsure, Sudco is hapless, the answers on facebook did not address different length for different size carbs or that PJ takes a longer cable than a larger PWK.  I am flying to another state to put a bike together in 24 hrs, if I had time I'd experiment.

Cable needed:  Connect a OEM CR250r twist throttle (happens to be 02-07 but shouldn't make a difference, it's 1/4 turn and made to open a 38mm) to a 39mm PWK.  95% sure a 2000 CR250r cable would work.  A part number would be preferred as the dealer and eBay sellers overlap years that I know do not work.

Appreciate your time.

What would be a good time to ride Winchester I'd have to know months in advance to plan vacation

June to September is a safe bet for the Oregon Coast. I have found too much soft sand May or earlier at Winchester or Florence.  Coos Bay is good for May though.  Oregon is my stomping grounds I've spent about 300 days on the coast over the last 30 years.  Will always be my favorite; clean not dusty sand, a good mix of dunes and trails then of course the beauty of being by the ocean.

We are going to try Saint Anthony's for the first time over the 4th in a few weeks if anyone is in that neck of the woods?.

i guess im missing something. your going to sell the motor to pay the taxes and duties to get the chassis, then have to pay for a whole new motor to be built, and then pay the same taxes and duties you cant pay now.... again on that stuff?

sucks all around man. if it was me id just pony up and get it all back in one piece. im sure arlan ported that motor to match the intake and exhaust he built for it, so splitting them up wouldn't be optimal for the end user after that.

This is a very valid point.  If your set on building the same thing then you'll be the highest bidder.   Death and taxes son; the two things you can't cheat.

I'm a bit lost at your end game if your building the same thing.
