Engine and Bottom End / Re: BDT Extended Clutch Arm and Cable Guide
« on: December 27, 2021, 08:25:53 PM »
You can save some money by taking the stock clutch arm and straightening the factory step bend in it by placing it in a bench vice and carefully tightening it. You will have to file the corner of the cylinder for clearance. It will make a difference in the pull at the lever. I also remove the return spring on the lever to make the pull even easier.

Wanted / Re: LT500R air boot
« on: April 07, 2018, 01:33:35 PM »
I switched from a screw cap Keihin 38 PWK A/S to the KTM Keihin 38 PWK A/S short body carb, this left me 20mm overall too short from the carb bell to the air boot. I did not want to run any reed spacers because the whole point is to get the carb closer in and I have only scene 1/2 inch (13mm) or 1/4 inch reed spacers, so I would have 2 reed spacers stacked, yuck . Thought about moving the air box and 86 air boot closer but then I would possible crush it if I bottomed out the suspension. Thought about 4 inch PVC spacer junk, then thought maybe I could cut down and re shape an LT500 air boot. All of these solutions might work but seemed half azzed. Then I remembered ESR use to sell a Mikuni TMX carb with a pressed on adapter ring. After a little searching I found a company called Mikunioz that sells a 62mm OD spigot adapter with 60mm ID thats 20mm long. This should work perfectly I hope.

On mine I think I used a M10 x 65 1.25 pitch allen bolt and a regular 10mm flange nut with 14mm hex head on the nut. Not sure if 65mm is the right length I cant remember for sure.
