Gotta love CA and the sense of "entitlement" most people have. If my job and family weren't anchoring me down here, I'd be out of this awful state. I remember my first trip to Pismo dunes. Everyone camped in tents. It wasn't over run with trailers and trash. The sand was actually smooth and not chopped up from the over sized tire tread marks. Ahhh the good ol' days, where there weren't too many fenced off areas and you could ride all day without crossing the same dune more than once. And to think of this place closing...saddens me. A place I pictured teaching my daughter how to ride an ATV and enjoy the outdoors. I pray this special place remains open and that our off-road community can continue to do what we love best!

Thanks Trx_Flynnstone! I think you just hit the "reply with quote" button at the bottom of each individual post that you want to reply to. And I'm assuming your talking about my stock 88 haha...thanks for the compliment. Pictures don't do it justice! You have a nice bike as well. Should post more pics of it!

I agree with zcarlson12, that cannondale is awesome! And it seems like there's a trend with the little dirt bikes being a regret. They are a ton of fun!!

Thanks guys! I have my bike stored at my in laws right now. When we go back and visit them, I reassemble, clean and take it on a nice little ride. Then I bring it back, clean, disassemble and put back in storage until next time. Needless to say, it doesn't see a lot of ride time. I want to buy another bike once we get back into a home with a garage again and have that one for more of the serious riding. I won't ever mod this piece of ATV history.

I bought this 1987 Suzuki LT500 Quadzilla from NASCAR driver Casey Mears right before he moved to Tennessee to begin his NASCAR career. I really regret selling it and if I could find it I would buy it back in a heart beat. Great bike, so much power. I will own another one day. I really like the looks of the 89' and 90'

What rides do you wish you never sold??? Lets hear about them guys & gals!

Yeah I think so. I'd have to get the details from him. The bike is mean. He took it to Sand Mountain and beat everything there...including the sandrails!!

First off, welcome to the site! Second, Beautiful find! Thank you for the compliments on my bike as well! I don't think ill ever sell her tho ;)
Awesome drag racing stories. One of my closest friends has one of the fastest single cylinder bikes I've ever seen. Its a Packard engine, not sure of the size or any other specs on it. Haven't seen it out in the sand in a while. Anyways, here are a few pics. From the sounds of it, I think you might enjoy them.

1988 Honda TRX250R

I bought my TRX250R about 2 years ago and have sadly only ridden it 2-3 times :( Been super busy with moving around and raising a little 2 year old girl :)  I am looking forward to the day I can throw on some paddles and cruise around Pismo Dunes! I grew up riding there and I remember when it was just tents, truck beds, and a fire pit. The dunes were smooth then and never really busy. Anyways...here's a little about my R.

Thanks guys! I love the bike! The 88' was always my dream bike and when I found it, I had to have it. Runs great and gets a lot of attention. Especially when people find out that it's all original...right down to the piston and grips.
