Not worth the hassle. :(

2
I'm building my own frames for big bore 250R/500R engines. Intake clearance won't be an issue. Just curious to what problems the big bore 250R cylinders have with stock frames

3
uhm...ok what ones don't fit

4
Sphynx, Puma, Saber-tooth and other big-bore or powervalve cylinders.

Do any of these, or any other big bore cylinders not fit in the ATC 250R frame?

If you just want them for display I have some that have very few rides on them and developed leaks...put a tube in them and they are good to go for display.

TT/Flat Track / 2015 NEEDT Nationals

The 2015 season is fast approaching.

I don't know much about the quad classes but, 3 wheelers now have a feature PRO-Am Open money class as well as some vintage class (if enough riders show up for it).

TPC Trikes is once again sponsoring the 100.00 Holeshot award and Rath Racing has stepped up with 150.00 in Rath bucks at each event and will also supply year end awards.

Been hearing some talk of more 250R owners joining the series. Can the two strokes stop the four stroke dominance? Time will tell but it is exciting times for sure. Open Class racing at it's best...small bore against big bore, two stroke against four stroke!!!

First race is a month away...

please note the change of dates and locations for one of the rounds...

What would be the prefered forum to post about the trike races? It won't be just 250R's

In the ATC 250R section

In the type of riding section IE MX TT etc etc.

etccb,

I will give you the same advice I told the three wheeler guys 14 years ago when we had no place to race. If you wait for someone else to do it for you it will never happen. If vintage quad guys want there own class they have to do it themselves. Get three or four of your buddies to show up at a race and go from there. Once a few of you show up and others see it they will follow. It did not happen overnight for us and it won't happen for vintage quads either. Pick one or two events a year and get a promoter to work with you. Don't try for to much to quick. We went many years with just a handful of us racing at one track three times a year.

Neil I think AMA thought 2012 was gonna be a one shot novelty act. I also think NEEDT has taken some of there thunder away and now realize they need to make some changes to not only the quads but also trikes are not going to go away. When we talked with them I told them point blank we don't need the AMA plenty of other promoters love having us. Both Tim and I told them take us as we are and treat us as equals or we will go elsewhere.

Lol. I thought it was pretty funny that at round 3 they (AMA) tried to discourage the 5 of us who showed up. They were shocked we stayed until the end. Then at round 4 we answered back with 75 riders...lol now they are approaching us with "terms" to let us race with them...our answer back was treat us like everyone else. Those are our terms!!!

Kyle, I wasn't trying to start a argument or anything. It is more about educating the masses. etccb sums it up perfectly and probably says it better than i did...lol.

Watch any AMA supercross, MX bike National, AMA EDT National. There is a white line after the first turn to determine who gets the "holeshot" after that you get just a 5th place start. Been that way for the last 30 plus years of my racing.

Holeshot definition...The term is used in motorcycle racing, off-road racing (but also motorsport racing in general) for the rider who is the first one through the first turn. In some cases a holeshot award will be given, which is a prize separate from winning the race.

My only beef is that you misuse the term "hole shot". A "hole shot" is when you get the first turn in first place. Period. There is no such thing as a fifth place hole shot.

Lol, I am glad someone else feels this way. With no disrespect to the op I get sick and tired of people misusing racing terms that is all to common nowadays.

My only "beef" with your post is the holeshot is not the one who gets to the first turn first, it is the one who exits the first turn in first place ;)
