I can do that. how do you want to get paid ??
At that price point it's worth the gamble and you sound honest. ;D
Consider them gone, we'll work out the details.

Thanks for the incredible high res pic's. Sadly it's hard to tell much without a part number, come up with a price and I'll try to do some research on them. I would like a brake lever, and I already have a clutch lever, I'm looking for a vapor for an air cooled motor and not sure it they are different for air/water cooled motors. Is there any speed sensor wiring included ? Harness's seem to be power and tach (Labeled) and 2 unlabeled, speed and temp. I'll do some looking but many of the harness's cost enough that it's almost cheaper to but a complete unit, rather then piece one together.
Is the brake lever a shorty or standard length ?
desertR
The clutch lever is the standard length, not a shorty, it appears to me.  I pretty sure it came on my '86 R, and then I seem to recall switching out the front master cylinder from a streetbike, and then had to use another lever, because this one didn't have the little tab that extends down to hit the brake light switch or something.
I will take the back bracket off the back of the vapor, and see if there may be a part # behind it.  As far as the wiring, what is pictured, is all I have for it.  It seems I do recall the previous owner saying something about a speed sensor, but it was not installed on the bike, and I never came across one.  I assumed that heavier wire in the coiled up harness was for the speed sensor, but never was sure.  If I recall, he said a magnet got placed on a wheel, and as it passed that part of the sensor, it measured speed or something.

I know its hard to buy something if you don't know it will work or not, lol.  I wish I had more info for you on this stuff.  I don't want to rip anyone off, for sure.  If you decide to roll the dice, how about $40 shipped for both, and if they don't work out, you can ship them back, and I'll refund your money?

Interested/need more info on the ASV lever/levers and the TrailTech Vapor?
Let me know
Thanks
desertR
I was wrong about the lever, it appears to be a brake lever, not a clutch lever.  It is marked with "A2" on the swivel part.

The Vapor.....didn't see any part numbers, but it seems to be working?  I push the mode button and it cycles through the 3 screens I took pics of.  Not sure anything else about it, I never used it.  I has the pictured mounting bracket and wiring included.

Not too sure about the ASV....it appears to be a cluch lever, but I'm not positive what it came off of, but I had it with my R parts.  The Vapor came with some spare parts, that I got with the R.  If I get time today, I will try to find some part numbers on both and get you some pics.  Jim

$40 shipped?

Hey guys, I thank you all so much for the support and help two years ago.  The R has been gone for almost 2 years, and this stuff can hopefully be of use to some of you.  I didn't take time to describe each part individually, and I am not excited about shipping a million packages.....but, if you see something you need/want in the pics, hit me up, and I will get more info on it, and we can maybe make a deal.  This is obviously listed locally, and I hope a locally buyer would just buy most of it, but it you guys need a part or two, I'll try to make it happen.  Miss you guys!  Jim

Oh wow that is awesome Mando!
Quick question though.....your tie rod end is under the knuckle arm.....is that how you do it with 400ex spindles?  Or did I put mine on upside down?  Lol

For Sale - Parts / custom wire harness
« on: April 10, 2015, 01:08:23 AM »
Dang, that does look like a nice harness!  I actually made my own, and am quite happy with it, but after the hardware and tools to make it, I probably could have just bought one of these, and been in the same ballpark.  If I had more time, I would consider making these for you guys, but don't think I could compete with these.  The components are high enough for me, that I wouldn't make much profit.  Nice job Mike!

PROJECT 839 had its maiden. Got a little mud on the tires.

Got more mud on the RZR though.  This thing is a beast in the mud!

Very nice jimbo. You should be proud.
Thank you sir.  I can't take all the credit though.
It is a budget build compared to what a lot of you guys have, but it will be perfect for what I need for now.  Plus, there is always another project that can be done right? :)

Well, its done for now.  I will probably powdercoat the bumper, grab, and nerfs black  (or charcoal, if I redo the frame pc too) next winter, but for now its done.  I didn't clean it up yet, but you get the idea.  Thank you all for all your help and patience.  I could not have done it without you.  It is ready to GO!  I put a few heat cycles on the engine, and have it jetted a bit rich for the first break in ride.  Gonna set sag tonight and get ready for its maiden weekend!

Went through and checked/replaced/fabbed all the:
Bearings
Brakes
Master cylinders
Hiper Wheels
Fasteners
Built a factory style wiring harness for lighting
Added Headlight and tail light and OEM lighting kill switch
Top end
New Airstriker carb
Gaskets
Ignition
Hubs and bearings
Airbox and filter
New Elka suspension

I looked at some pictures in another thread I started about this tee that comes in the kit - Jimbo45 was kind enough to submit them. Based on what I'm seeing with the way the tee is mounted on his R and the routing of the pipe, I'm hoping I'll not have clearance or interference issues. Have to wait and see.
Yeah, mine clears the sparks mx pipe fine, just mounting it on the right hand side factory boss.

Question on the rear Elka shock.....it makes a "clunk" about 2/3 of the way through the stroke.  It sounds like one of the plastic collars in between the spring stages is catching on a coil as the shock compresses or something.  Is that normal?  Its not that big of a deal, but it is a noticeable thud, and I can even feel it.  Weird.

Edit to add:  After setting the sag (it was way too soft out of the box), the clunk went away!
