TT/Flat Track / TT Tracks in NY or northeast?

I can tell you this, when you run on some good Red Clay down here in the south, OHHH you are gona be so messed up. Aint no other dirt better you can race flat track or TT on than red clay. Theres some close to the feel, but thats just it, close.

I've had, I guess you would say, the misfortune of growing up on real tacky red clay tracks, so I'm messed up every where else I go if its not red.
I can leave my house & go in any direction, any road & be at some type of race track in less than 25~50 miles.

Oh, did you check out the New East site, they are going to have a great season this year.
Neil

Yea i check out the websites and looks very interesting…. I just don't understand the classes, i have a pretty much bone stock 250r and I'm a novice, what class would i be put into.

I have a fairly large SCCA race schedule this year for my cars but i would love to make it out to one of these races to really see what its about.

Posted a link in my mod post but figure i start a new thread….

Got this off ebay, in what i think was a decent deal, bike should be shipped out monday from AZ to NY.

I think the painted plastics might give me some trouble in Ny terrain (like some of you guys said in my other thread about mods) but its all good, i can always buy some other plastic too.

Heres the Link:

Also my son currently lives at FT Drum NY and is also looking for tracks to race at....I am shipping his JP 250r to him at the beginning of next month if he doesn't ship out to Iraq....He has raced flat track since hi was 4 years old (He's now 28) and could give you some help with set ups if you are close enough.....

Thats great thanks man, i busted turned 27 so we are close in age. i really would like to do TT bc its more like road racing as opposed to running on a oval.but regardless both seem fun

First things first, Im gonna buy Full Skids Plates right off the bat.

Right now i trying to Choose between Moose, AC and PRM.

After reading reviews I'm leaning to PRM, priced very well and the reviews are really good!

I've never dealt with duncan but i do have esr on my bike and i like it for the price!! as far as race fuel, any bike can be made to run race or regular gas. just depends on how your builder/yourself set it up as.. there is TONS of info already on which route you could go and either route is a good one i would say. like stated above the bike looks awesome but that paint is gonna chip if your riding woods!! been there done that to many times.. the bike looks awesome though!! great pick up

Thanks Man!

Is there a recommended big bore kit I can buy that would save me the trouble of piecing everything together and just get the motor done all at once?

And then I could buy a set of used shocks and a +2 axle.

The bike i bought is one off ebay, it was supposly a taken down to the frame and anything that was questionable was replaced.

Its a 87 frame and a 86 motor.

Heres the link to the bike

« on: March 11, 2015, 10:53:33 AM »
Wow rath nerf bars look really nice but damn they are pricey!

Im not looking to spend that much money just on bars.

i think ill rather go with AC over Alba but there is a lot of mixed reviews…… tough call
