I don't think you'd need to pull it I'd just put the oem up against the billet one.

Take your stock brake stay and make sure your new billet one is the exact same, it's possible a batch of bad stays was made.
Just rotate the carrier
What kind of carrier are you using I have had this issue with the bearings being wider.
Stock bolt spacing is 4-1/2" center to center ? What are you gettting ? If it's 4" it might be set up for a CRF Front Caliper swap.
