Carburetor, Intake, and Exhaust / Throttle cable
« on: October 28, 2015, 06:20:28 PM »
Could some one please tell me what cable I need for a 38mm PJ carb. I ordered a twist throttle kit motin pro brand and the cable does not have threads on it to thread into the cap. I called before I ordered it to not have this problem and they said the cable just sits on top of the cap. That cant be rite because it just falls over.

I'm not sure ESR only offers one pistion, and I am using the spacer plate that ESR recommends.

Thanks for the replys, I think that's what I'll do. Tear the motor down to check it out and just go back with a stock stroke crank and start all over, at least I'll know what I have after that. I'm having a tough time getting ahold of esr I don't know cost wise if it's worth re sleeving or just buying another cyl kit.

What about the bottom part of the sleeve being broke off ? The cylinder walls are not scared up.

The bottom part of the sleeve broke off and got wedged in between the crank and the case, locking my motor down yesterday. The piston  is only a few rides old and the motor ran good, I guess there was just to much slop and it broke a small pice of the skirt off also. It is a esr310 Is this worth having re sleeved or not.  Also this motor has a hot rods crank and on the rod it has ck109b. Even using a 190 spacer plate the piston stuck out of the cylinder. I had to put extra gaskets on the spacer plate to keep the pistion from hitting the head. Is this a +4 Stroker crank, I bought this bike with a bad piston  this is why I do not know what crank it is or the history of it.

A 310r I bought has this cpi exhaust system on it, I assume it is for mainly top end. Will this be a bad set up for just all around general riding, im not racing or anything like that. Should I just try to sell or trade it for something else. It is in excellent shape the finish is great still and no dings. Let me know what you think please.

Engine and Bottom End / having spark problems ?
« on: August 29, 2015, 08:05:50 PM »
Hello I am at a loss here, I bought another 86r that has a ct310 cylinder with a bad piston. I have all of that fixed but I think the reason it burnt up was because of a ing problem. I got it put all back together this morning and I checked to see if I had fire before trying to start with the plug out and it did, but had to kick it really hard-fast. So I put the plug in and go to bust it off for the first time and it kicks back like nothing I've ever seen ! I mean had to put a riding boot on. I took the stator cover off and pulled the fly wheel, it is new and the stator and the pick up is, it has a red cdi box on it so I took the cdi box off of my other r that runs good. It still has all of the original elect parts on it, I put that cdi box on it and it does not have any spark with it ? but does not kick back because it is not firing. I assume it is firing to soon or something of that sort causing it to kick back so bad, but I don't understand why it has no fire with the other cdi that I know is good. It does not have a adjustable timing plate and the pick up is in the stock location I even tried the other coil to. Could some one please help me, tell me what to try from here. Thanks for your help.
