Thanks guys.  I'll see if he can get me that number when I call him and then give Arlan a call.  I wasn't really planning on buying a 250r just yet, but this one seems to be in good condition from the photos so I might have to pick it up.  

Not sure where to ask this question, but assuming that the engine checks out and everything else is in good working order, what are big bore 250Rs worth these days?  From what I can tell besides what you see on the engine it has Leager's std. travel a-arms and swing arm (possibly extended), basic Works shocks on both ends with reservoirs, Durablue axle, stock headlight and tail light, stock cooling system besides radiator scoops, some newer Maier plastic, custom seat cover, Duncan racing bumper, maybe a larger tank, new wheels with the sand tires, and another set of dirt wheels and tires. Also a 1988 model.

I stumbled across an add for a machine that appears to be in fairly good condition that I am considering buying.  From the photos it appears to have an LRD PV engine kit of some kind and has an LRD exhaust system to match.  Since it is LRD I know it is a few years old.  Does Arlan still offer parts for these older kits if needed through LED or is his new stuff different?  Is there a tell-tale way to identify which kit it is from the outside?  If there is, I've attached the pictures of both sides of the motor for you guys to look at.  The quad is a couple hours away from me so I haven't called the guy to see what he says or go look at it in person yet.  Thought I'd try to get some information ahead of time.

Introductions / Potentially new to 250Rs

Hey guys!  I've been racing motocross on quads since about 2003 and have been on 4strokes the whole time.  First quad was actually a 1987 Honda 250X that I started riding in about 1999 (I think).  Then had a very heavily modified 2004 Arctic Cat DVX and now I have two KTMs, a 505SX and 525XC, that pull track and dune duty.  

I've always wanted to have a 250R just to keep around for fun and recreational riding.  Decided to join the forum to see what I need to look for specifically when looking at used ones besides general condition and common quad problems.  Pretty broad subject on 25-30yr old machines, but if you have any tips on common issues send them my way!
