We have a 33 raptor fithwheel open. Have towed it 13,000 miles with 5-6 bikes in it and it's been great. The only issue so far is the water holding tank brackets/straps aren't strong enough and will have to be reinforced. In 06 we demoed a 36 raptor and pulled it with 4 bikes for 5000 miles with no problems. Overall I think you'd be happy with a raptor.

I bought the Rickey stator battery, used cr 500 lighted stator with the fixed cdi which is around $500.(used).  I was running baja designs 8" and 10" led bars and a small led taillight.  I had the 8" and tailight on one switch and the 10"  on a separate switch.  The battery would not power the 8" and 10" at the same time with the engine off,  but powered them both perfectly with the engine running. I used this setup for probably 3 hrs of night riding and while about 3 hrs into a day ride (lights off)  the stator quit giving spark and left me stranded. The cr 500 stator would backfire on shutoff, would not start as well or deliver all around power as well as the cr 250.

Duner / Silver Lake meet up 2016

The red dot in the above picture marks where a few of us will be for sure. Feel free to join in.  It is right in the "old"  drag strip which has been to wet for many years. We were here a month ago and it was flat and dry.  There should be plenty of room,  see you all soon.

Duner / Silver Lake meet up 2016

Hey guys.  For those who don't know my name is Joel.  First off I'd like to say that last year a few of us decided to have our families come up on Saturday and that is part of why there was a lack of "groupness". Some of us kept to ourselves and families during the day on Saturday. Well that isn't going to happen this year.  I still have a strong memory of a rush of adrenaline from the first year when I pulled up to where everyone was hanging out by the drag strip. Everyone was meeting each other, lining up,  checking out bikes ect. Nothing gets me going more than competing against another 250r.  I would like to think we can recreate this for new guys as well as for regulars.

Unfortunately I have one of the busiest work weeks this week of the year. I hope to at least only work a half day on Friday and would love to see a bunch of us riding Friday afternoon into the evening.  It doesn't get dark here till 9:30 or later. Doug is taking our trailer and parking it at Marc's again so I'm sure we'll see everyone at night. On Saturday I'd like to form a meet up spot in the dunes. Not that anyone has to meet but I think it would be great to have a common area that if you lose your group or want to join/start another there will be a place that more than likely people will be. I hope that this would promote groupness and help those who may be coming by themselves or are new to silver Lake. I'll post below a picture of where I'll be parked. I have a silver 4 door Chevy and  red and orange bikes.  I'll have a shade tent set up and I'll be grilling dogs and brats for anyone who wants some around noon. I'll try have some refreshments as well. Some of you are coming from a long way and I want to try to help everyone to really enjoy the trip.  I'm not the boss here,  I'm just try to promote a good time.

Last year was quite a bit busier than normal because it was "heroes on the dunes"  weekend.

I'll take 2 for the 15 tooth.

Here is mine on a no link.  I had to move the intake back further than normal to clear the shock at bottom out, but clearly there is no room for a silencer.

I am looking for what people use to mount their front full boar fenders. Can I purchase something? Or do I have to bend my own.? I'm looking for the easiest option that works. Thanks

The Mad Scientist / Ltr 500 intake on lsr no link
« on: August 30, 2015, 06:32:10 PM »
I am going to use the lt 500 boot.  The problem is the ID of the 500 boot is bigger than the OD of the stock 250r filter. So a adapter is needed to get the two to connect. My goal is to not use an adapter and this will allow the filter to move closer to the carb which will make more room for a air box.

I built an adapter to run a stock filter with the 500 intake....  This moves the filter closer to the brake caliper and rear sprocket which creates more clearance issues.
