VIN number is missing from the case. From what I have read I am thinking atvmxr is is correct and everything is 86-87 with the exception of the frame. Cylinder looks to have Trinity engraved in it. Runs great but leaks from everywhere.

Thank you everyone for the insight.

X3 on the Works shocks both front & rear. It's hard to tell in the pic but does your rear shock have a plastic or aluminum body? I have a Works Ultracross rear that has a plastic body & have only ever seen one or two others like mine.

It is an aluminum body.

looks like you've also got 86-87 A-arms.  Good chance someone had a 86-87, and needed to replace the frame so they got a 88 frame and swapped everything over.

Send those shocks to seth fligge and get the PEP transplant done.  http://www.sfracingonline.com/home/4537027438

Thank you for pointing out the a-arms. I planned on going with aftermarket a-arms and swingarm so I wasn’t terribly worried about them. Your point about everything being swapped from and older frame makes a lot of sense. Any suggestions on how I can determine what year motor it is?

I will look into Seth as soon as I am sure what arms I am using.

Suspension and Chassis / Frame/swingarm combo help

Can someone please help my confirm what I am looking at? Pretty certain frame is an 88 and came with a title so I’m confident in that. Also pretty sure it is an 86-87 swingarm but the spacer in the center looks factory. This is my first R so I am second guessing myself.

Also any insight into what shocks these are would be appreciated. They are pretty beat up and basically springs at this point.

Introductions / New to the 250r

Hello everyone. Just picked up my first 250r last weekend. These were the quad I always wanted as a kid and every time I come across one I think about buying it. Finally just decided to jump in and stop thinking about it. It’s pretty rough and will need a complete rebuild. Looks like this is the place to be for knowledge.
