Suspension and Chassis / Re: GBC XC tires
« on: May 11, 2021, 01:35:11 PM »
Norm,

I have GBC XC masters on my 400ex for riding the Hatfield McCoy trails in WV. They hold up great.  I got sick of paying alot for holeshots & razors.

Engine and Bottom End / Re: Gears on ESR site
« on: March 14, 2018, 02:59:30 PM »
I spoke to Eddie and he tells me these gears are the same ones LED and Schorr is selling.  As of now he only has the counter shaft set in stock.  3-4 week lead time for the main shaft.  Saw the thread on the other site about him being hard to get in touch with.  I know he is busy, but has always gotten back to me.

I would like to order one of the solid ones, I have the cases apart.  I just wasn't sure how to order it since it is not on your site.

Good point, I guess I was being lazy.  I saw some other guys on here had one.  I will give the tape a try.

I would like to buy a solid spacer plate to paint my engine.  How do I got about buying one?

Thanks,  Ryan

Lounge / Not an R but can someone help?

Take to air boot off the carb and pump the throttle with the engine off, looking into the carb to make sure the accelerator pump is squirting fuel.  I had a foreman I worked on a while ago and the diaphragm for the pump was bad.  When you gave it throttle, it died. Replaced the diaphragm and it ran great. I think this ethanol is slowing killing small engines.

Suspension and Chassis / Swing arm bolt stuck & looking for suggestions
« on: January 25, 2014, 09:48:16 PM »
A method I have used with success is to take the quad, prop it up on its side so the swingarm bolts threads are exposed. Now take some acetone and ATF transmission fluid and mix up a homebrew of penetrating oil(this stuff works great, the acetone works as a carrier agent for the ATF).  Dump some of this mix down the threaded side of the bolt while the quad is prop up on its side.  Let it soak for a while. Set the quad back down on its wheels. Next take an impact gun and spin the bolt in reverse, it may come out.  If the bolt does not come out, now take a air chisel with a pointed bit(not a chisel bit) and try to drive the bolt out from the threaded side.  If it is still stuck, as Spiritaces has suggested you may have to cut the bolt out.

A while ago someone mentioned Rustoleom "Sunrise Red" is a real close match for spray paint.
