I also like the look of Black plastics, but even if a Bird poops on them they will be forever ruined not to mention dirt, mud, and tree branches hitting them.

I'm dying to see if those Red Plastics create to much red.. Pics!

Stiff and rigid should be able to be taken care of with softer springs or dampening adjustments.

Your Seat sounds dry rotted. New foam and / or cover should do the trick as mentioned. If it's still to stiff drill holes in the foam (actually did this on a dirt bike a while back and worked well, I went straight down for the most part with a few drills through the side).

My new thing with the R (and two strokes in general) is I think I'm getting to lazy and the hyper'ness of it catches me off guard to much. I'm afraid I may someday go with a 4 stroke :culpability:

Looking really good man!!!

I think the Red Plastics might be too much Red, but would still look awesome.

I think the "too much red" would come from the engine covers, hoses, and kicker w/ the addition of the plastics. I see you have black hoses? Either way I wouldn't ditch the red fenders completely because I'm sure it will look awesome regardless.

Carburetor, Intake, and Exhaust / R stalls out in first gear...
« on: August 23, 2015, 07:08:30 PM »
At first I thought it was a simple clutch issue but you're saying you can engage the clutch, put it in gear, and still be fine along w/ Revving the engine? That the problem occurs when you release the clutch to ride away applying load, correct?

I'm the opposite of an expert on engines and more so on bottom ends, but maybe it's possible your having issues with your gears / tranny as if somethings binding up causing drag? When you go to let the clutch out does it seem like your dragging something causing the bike to squat a tad? Have you tried revving higher and feathering the clutch to "fight" through it?

Welcome, and yes love the back ground on the two staying together. Any Plans for them? They both look to be in great shape and the one closest in the pics screams for full oem restoration show piece, while the other screams "Mod me"!
