No longer an option to send them your tires to have them repaired or to have a custom set made.

Wanted / Re: Oem cylinder heads

I looked last night & the head with the broken elbow is actually an 87 HA2 head, the damaged HB9 head I have was the one I cut in half to make that cylinder plaque for Tony. I'll get the HA2 head & kicker sent off this week.

I think I have an HF1 head with a broken water fitting I'll send you. I might have an HB9 head that has a bunch of pitting in the dome I can throw in as well. I'll ship them along with the 350x kicker I still haven't sent.

I've seen these in a larger size on the front's of Jeep's & other sand drag four wheel drive's but never saw them on an atv... Loren, I have a set of old Pro-Wedge's I'll bring one of these day's & you can try them out. I used to run them on a 350X but switched to straight paddle's & never looked back.

That's an insane amount of money for that 500!!!!! There's an 01 CR500 still in the crate displayed up on a shelf at the local Honda shop. I heard the owner was offered 20k for it & he just laughed. Now I see why.

The main jet can already be replaced without removing the carb or the float bowl but being able to swap pilots without removing the bowl is a nice feature.

Carburetor, Intake, and Exhaust / Re: Internally rusted pipe fix

The beauty of the Evapo-Rust is that it's water based & reusable. After soaking the pipe & silencer I rinsed them really good with water, blew them out thoroughly than heated them up with a heat gun to evaporate any residual water inside than I sprayed boat engine fogger in the pipe to prevent any flash rusting. Overall it worked very well, didn't hurt the chrome plating & made the pipe usable again.

Carburetor, Intake, and Exhaust / Internally rusted pipe repair
« on: August 23, 2025, 11:14:41 PM »
I have a TRX-5 pipe that ended up with heavy internal rust due to a coolant leak. I didn't realize the pipe was still full of coolant when I parked the R for about a year. It rusted the pipe & the inside/core of my FMF Q-silencer. The turbine core portion of the silencer was almost completely rusted out & non salvageable. Looking on here & other places for idea's on how to fix the pipe/silencer I saw a post by rsss396 about making a wire brush out of a piece of cable to remove the scale from inside the pipe. It worked great to get the scale out & prep in for the rust remover. I started with the silencer as a test piece & it came out looking like almost new so than I went onto fixing the pipe. The chemical I used is CRC Evapo-Rust & I gotta say that stuff works amazing. It's a bit on the spendy side at $28/gallon but the end result was worth it considering how much used 5 pipes go for these days. For the silencer stinger/core I made a trough out of 2x4's & lined it with 6 mil visqueen, that took 2 gallons of evapo-rust to fill. Same procedure to soak the pipe but I used 2 2x4's stacked on edge. If I was going to do it again I'd use 2x8 or 2x10 to make the trough. For the pipe it took 6 gallons which it would be cheaper to get a 5 gallon bucket + 1 gallon. Soak time is dependent on how bad the rust is but I let everything soak for 6 days.

Joe I have 3 sets of front red labels, 2 10x5's & 1 10x6. Offsets are 3/2,2/3 & 3/3. If you want to trade a set of blue labels for any of those red label sets let me know.

Salem indoor speedway.  Salem,Oregon

I didn't know they still held races at the Salem fair grounds. Looks like I'm going to go watch some local TT racing soon. Back in the 80's & 90's they had arena cross there, I never raced but had friends that did so I was there a lot. Those were some good times.

Luckily my dad got an 85 350x for me a year earlier in 1987 when I was 12. I wrecked the hell out of that trike more times than i can remember, what a great experience to have been able to grow up in that era & get to ride the machine's everyone was so afraid of.

Are you only looking for brand new or will an old set work? The oldschool DG nerf bar's are fairly compact & might work for your combination. I could take some measurements off mine if that helps.

I use a solvent pan with kerosene & numerous tooth brushes & pipe brushes to clean parts. It's the most labor intensive & pain in the ass way possible to clean parts. For some reason at 49 I still haven't learned & must enjoy punishing myself because I also polish all my aluminum parts & wheels by hand with mother's & painters towels. Fancy tools that do most of the work for you sure are nice though.

Their a little late to the party. Even though that ignition works on the LT I doubt many people will get one for their LT considering the resale on those things is about what a used 00-01 cr250 ignition costs.
