Suspension and Chassis / Re: 1986 250r long travel setup?
« on: January 24, 2019, 12:57:25 PM »
You can do a Longer travel mod to the earlier shocks. It will raise the ride height.
If you want the additional travel without raising ride height you need an early and a late model shock and we combine them. For that you would need to run a modified airbox, as the compressed length gets a little shorter .

I don't get on here very often, but I just wanted to pass along the info. for those of you that do your own shock service or if you know shops looking for these to service your shocks, since Works closed its doors.. We have them now in stock available to ship. We also made them from a much better material than the original ones were.https://www.schmidtyracing.com/product-p/srs-wp-bl-.htm They are a much more pliable material, for more dynamic reaction times, and much longer service life as the originals were known to get hard, brittle and crack. They are avail in different quantities, with a higher discount for larger quantities.

I have a set of custom axis that the internals are new, but the exterior has taken a beating.

who is recommended to bring them back to looking new externally?

I feel they need new springs or new coating and the rest of the exterior needs new anodizing and etc.  any advice?

Thank you,

John

Haven't logged in for a while, but yeah that is one of the services we do.

I have done facelifts on shocks for quite a few members on here.. I'm sure a few will chime in.

I've had these for a while, maybe some of you have not seen them. They replace the OEM one  where the ears always crack off. Oem mounting and utilizes OEM clamps.. I also have a few sets of Chromed clamps as well. http://www.ebay.com/itm/HONDA-ATC-250R-SHOWA-SHOCK-BILLET-REZZY-RESERVOIR-MOUNT-BRACKET-/230791513412

We were out of these for a while... They are back in stock, in all colors..

I tend to block out the banner ads. At this point in they are background noise. In fact most people run adblock or similar and these ads won't even show up. I think posting a thread like this is much more effective. So do you focus on atv's? Dirt bikes?

Mainly Atv/atc's. I do an occasional DB. I also do a ton of UTV/ SxS shocks. . We have replacement dual spring kits for most of the OEM Fox shocks, spring hardware, seal kits and do revalving on them as well.

Well I have been a sponsor on here for quite some time. So if you have never seen our banner on the top, you have got to wake up son. LOL We are not a huge shop, but we take a lot of pride in customer service, satisfaction; and fast turnaround times. We don't advertise, but mainly rely on word of mouth. See our feedback on ebay. That is a tough environment, and our feedback is flawless. We are a dealer for Works performance as well as Racetech, but mainly our focus is servicing, and revalving a& respringing the OEM shocks for customers who want the best performance they can get out of the OEM shocks. Many times we can get very close to aftermarket performance for 1/2 or less the price. Every case and budget is different. Give us a look see and I think you'll be pleased. We have done a lot of shocks for peeps here on the forum.

Suspension and Chassis / Setting up a charge, refill for shocks

click on the link in my signature (schmidtyracing.com), to our website,or ebay if you are so inclined, but most products are cheaper on the website than ebay. We we sell all kinds of regulator kits, fill tools from basic to ones with many features. We also sell individual parts. Our kits are very competitive. We also sell seal kits, shock oil, springs, and quite a few different dual rate kits for UTV's as well.

Have had quite a few different ones over the years. Bent lots of oem ones.(Actually every one eventually ,LOL)  I have bent a Lonestar, stripped a hub on a Durablue . RPM is the one. Bite the bullet, pay the man,and be done.

Does anyone have a simple diagram of how the regulator and fill hose is setup. I know there is a trick to it but need to know where the bleed knob goes. Any links to the question would be appreciated or your setup and how it works.

Puma What are you trying to do? 1)Check the pressure on a shock? 2) charge fill a shock after service? 3) ?????  4)  build your own tool instead of buy one?
