Introductions / Old dune rider

Thanks guys, wished I had more old pics!
Glamy, retirement yea no more in bed by 9pm and up at 3am, can now watch 11 o’clock news and get up when ever I wake up. My summer project was to fix my starting problem, with help from another forum installed a 24 volt system. This took some time to fabricate battery box as I’ve have always had access to maintenance machine shop and other people for welding before retiring, and now they’ve closed their doors never thought about buying a used lathe and mill, wished I had. 24 volt system works so well wished I hadn’t modified the foot pegs and installed a kick start system.
Still my first trip to Glamis in ’79 to the present time the dunes and vehicles have changed but the people you meet there are friends for life.

Ya before the fence you had to be careful to not ride into Mexico but was a nice ride over to a little settlement called "Algoones" park on the US side an walk into town.

Welcome to site. How is the frame holding up on your 713cc? I know you don't have vibration problems, I was just wondering about the weight of the motor.
Funny you mention frame cracking. After having ridden it for a dozen years with a stock NX650 motor, finally completed my race in 05 and installed the frame broke at the down tube to left foot peg 2 years ago. During frame weld repair, modified foot peg mounts to allow kick start XR version as the electric starter couldn't be relied on to start, too much compression.

cool stuff, if you have any old pics that would really be awesome!
Sorry no early '80s pictures, wasn't into cameras, too expensive and money spent on go fast stuff. A friend gave me a couple pictures aka '90-91 at Oldsmobile hill, me on the 3wheel XR500, son on 350x, and a friend from Phoenix.

Have been lurking on other forums, one of the threads referred to .org and registered. Built several hopped up 3 Wheelers since 1980. Started with a '80 ATC 110 bored and stroked to 205cc on Alcohol running Glamis Comp hill. My current favorite play toy is a hybrid ’86 TRX250R chassis with a XR650L engine installed and no its not stock 713 cc (101 x 89 ) just a fun dune toy. My signature lists past and present current toys. Recently retired and hope to share my knowledge with fellow addicts.
