For Sale - Parts / Heel guards are finally ready to go!

Jason, you need to train this guy. While he is looking at the heel guards ring a bell. Keep repeating this process, then the ringing of a bell will make him automatically think of the heel guards
Lol, no coersion needed!!! They've been on my mind since I first read the thread. It's just my daughters' forth birthday yesterday and Xmas next week leaves a man a little short on disposable funds.

I agree, I've been salivating over these but just a bad time of year. I'm definitely in for a set in a few weeks if they're still available.

Engine and Bottom End / Overflow bottle options?
« on: September 09, 2013, 04:52:54 PM »
Some MX guys run the tube from the overflow and point it towards the exhaust. When it overheats, it steams on the exhaust letting you know you're too hot.

Lounge / can paint be taken off of carbon fiber?
« on: September 07, 2013, 10:53:38 AM »
If the paint isn't very thick you could wet sand the paint off with 1000-1200 grit and then buff the original clear. If not then what Hawaiiysr said.

Sorry to hear the misfortune, definitely one of the best places towards the east coast to ride. I would check the wiring harness for sure, those trails are some rough terrain, big rocks, 200' or more strip mine cliffs. I learned real quick your ride has to be in tip top shape for that place. I thought it was cool having a 50 mile radius to ride. I rode my r to Walmart, also passed a ups truck on the highway. Not often can you do that legally. Good luck getting it figured out.

Playing catch at PBS. Guess it helps to have a name-Aaron but I look like a Benjamin, so I've been told.

Engine and Bottom End / Oil Leak: Shift Shaft Seal
« on: August 13, 2013, 02:09:28 PM »
May have to replace the case, had to on mine for this very reason. My shift shaft had a slight bend in it and it eventually wore the hole oblong. Replaced left center case and shift shaft. Good to go after that!!

Just crazy to think someone printed a cylinder, as a matter of fact it's absolutely 'effin nuts!!!! I'm sure with time it'll only improve but I had no idea, just thought they were making cups and spatulas and such with them. Some awesome threads you come up with!!!

Those 3D printers are crazy!!!!! Oh, you need a new cylinder? Let me pull up the specs and print you one out. Some day in the future we'll be printing everything.

Good place to order the spacer?

Ordered mine from TLR Online. Pumashine makes 'em. You will need extended base studs also.

To put an 85-86 cylinder on a long rod motor you need to be +5mm. So a 3mm spacer and two 1mm gaskets. Not sure if you can put an 86 piston in an 87-89 cylinder, port windows may be different. Seems like it should work though, maybe someone with more knowledge can shed some light.

Engine and Bottom End / To suck or blow?
« on: August 04, 2013, 05:19:52 PM »
Was able to take the inHg gauge off my bleeder pump and just plugged the void on the pump with a brass fitting. I was also searching online and Grainger carries a gauge that reads psi and inHg for $10. They have bankers hours so I was s.o.l. this weekend, gonna go buy it for future use. This motor did very well though, held 6.5 inHg for well over an hour. Time for break-in, my least favorite part.

*update*
Just realized I should have tested at 12.22 inHg not 6.5 inHg. I feel stooooopid!!! Oh well, live and learn.

Engine and Bottom End / To suck or blow?

Got the leakdown tester complete. Couldn't find a gauge I was happy with, it reads to 160psi. Pretty big to get a real accurate reading but I made sure I didn't go past 10psi. Held pressure without leaks so I'm pretty stoked. Also can't find a gauge to read vacuum so that's on hold. Just happy this held air. Here's some pics of what I set up.

Sure do, for those easy one man brake jobs. Have vacuum covered just have to go buy a bicycle pump to put air in.
