When i had it running, it did not idle... i had to keep my thumb on the throttle. If you let off it died.Didn't want to mess with it until after the idle break in.

Think it could be carb related? Stuck float? Broken Reed?

Tested the Coil both ways = OK
Checked Stator/Pulse Gen = Ok
Kill switch, On/Off = Ok

Tried it with the kill switch unhooked. Tried it with key switch unhooked. Tried it with AC Reg unhooked. Tried it with AC/Kill/Light Unhooked.

Old plug was wet, tried new plug.

Whats left... CDI?

Thanks.

Well I don't know why I thought I would have a change of luck.... Started up beautifully 1st idle break in. Went to start it again and nothing. Just kicked and kicked. I thought it was flooded... so I let it sit a few hours, just kicked and kicked.

I let it sit over night and tried it again just now. Just kicked and kicked. Oh, and the plastic on my alpine stars dry roted and fell apart as I was kicked. So I had to buy new boots to boot!

I have been dreading this for 2 years, some sort of electrical issue! I can def smell gas... it feels like there is no spark. Wiring Harness is New, CDI is NOS, Key Switch is New, Used Coil, Used OEM Kill Switch, OEM Stator/Flywheel (look brand new). Guess its time to get out the ohm meter...

Extremely frustrated. I feel like I am in a ruthless endless cycle of getting one thing fixed and another goes wrong. I can't ever ride!

She lives! Just did the 1st 15 minute idle break in, its on cool down now. 1 more then done with the idle. Im gonna wait till next weekend and goto the place i ride to do the 6 riding break in steps.

Everything seems good. Got to 144*. I did have a small petcock leak. Gonna try to get that fixed before next weekend.

I also installed a Magura Hydraulic Clutch last night.

The pipe doesn't have any markings on it other than the Paul Turner plate. Loren said it was at least 20 years old and midrange. It is a lot smaller in the mid section than a 2003 race pipe.

Thanks guys!

I guess i forgot the specs lol. Here are a few, I'm sure you can tell most from the pics.

275 PV (MX) with a Duncan 36mm Super Flowed PJ and some unknown 80'/90's PT Midrange pipe. I sent it to Loren @ Duncan a couple years ago. He did new nikasil, piston, PV Adjustment, jetted the carb. Still gotta break the engine in, hopefully this or next weekend. It really has been killing me to try this engine, I have never riden a PV before!

Houser +1's, Axis Comp/Rebound Shocks, Houser Tie Rods, 400EX Spindles, YFZ Calipers, CCP Puck Stabilizer, Stainless Lines all around.

RPM XC Axle (-2/+1) w/race hub, RPM Carrier, RPM Antifade. Stock, revalved rear shock....Just had all 3 shocks freshened up a month ago.

Graydon Front Bumper, Graydon Nerfs, Unknow Aluminum Rear Grab Bar (looks stock, but out of aluminum).

New OEM 88 Wiring Harness, New OEM CDI, Digital Temp Gauge on Handlebars

ITP Beadlocks (3/2 Front's), Razr 2's. Running 47" Width up front, Nerfs are 46.5" and Rear is 46.5". I could go a lot narrower with 4/1's and adjusting the axle.

Hopefully after i get some seat time and the problems figured out.. Im gonna focus on rider comfort items. Still got a ways to go.

Finally got some pics! Its been over 3 years since I have gotten to ride!! Its killing me. It has just been sitting under a cover, its dusty and needs a bath.

Not 100% done yet, still missing some parts. I have a lot of little things to do/adjust, but at this point I am just trying to throw stuff back together to get it ridable before the season is over (again lol).

Basically everything that could go wrong... has gone wrong so far. Fingers crossed I am done with the major fixes. Just wanna get some seat time on it to figure out all the problems.

I am going for a stock "riden" look, with some 1990's parts. I ride in the woods/mud ect and its too hard to keep everything looking perfect and spotless lol.

Also, Fighting Red Maier Plastic was discontinued a few years ago when I bought new plastic. So I decided to go for the 89 look as that was about my only option at the time.

I actually ordered one awhile ago. Very nice... really snug fit. Only problem, I had to swap out the 10mm bolts heads for 8mm bolt heads. I couldn't fit my socket inside the holes.
