Welp ive got some shitty news guys. My wifes family will be coming into town the exact same weekend as this trip. Ive already booked the campsite and everything.. unfortunately theres no way out of this situation im in. Also the other 2 R’s that would be coming with wont be able to make it either. Just certain things in all of our lives have come up making it impossible to drive 8 hours for even 1 day of riding. Then another 8 hour drive back. Just to much.. im not happy about it i can tell you that.. neither are the other guys. This will be the 2nd year in a row i wont be able to attend. Just sucks man!! I hope you guys have a hell of a time out there and everybody is safe!! Maybe ill catch some of you out there sometime this year.

I booked site #50. I'm pretty sure I have it at capacity. Search for Winchester bay sand camping on Google. Then select recreation.gov.

Ok man i just booked campsite #51 !! I looked at the map and seen the spots are actually spread out a lot more than i thought. Theres some distance between the campsites which is cool.. it says up to 20 ppl per campsite so if anybody wants to crash on my site they are more than welcome..  nobody owes me anything but may be a couple of beers for it lol.. i booked from the 17-22. Prolly leave Monday morning/afternoon time frame.  In the meantime I’m going to be recruiting more guys with 250r’s to come ride!! If anybody has any questions or wants to know some info about staying at my site just send me a message and then we can link through text message for quicker responses.. thanks for getting all of this together guys!! Cant wait

They are actual camp spots. The sites are very large and have plenty of room. You go south from the last day use parking lot. I tow a 40' raptor 5th wheel out there with an old worn out chevy pickup.

Ok that sounds like a plan. I can either see about getting a sand spot or if you are gona have some room can throw you cash for the days we stay there. Not to sure on what everybody is gona want to do. Maybe we can talk more about it thru text or something to areange the days and canspots. I just booked my campsite yesterday at Umpqua which used to be discovery point. Was 300$ for 6 days fml.im gona get back on there and see if i can find the sand spots your talking about. Ill try n get a spot right by you guys which i think you said 50-51-52 correct?

So I primarily sand camp. We air down and pull our toy haulers out to site 50, 51, or 52. Its $12 per night.
Which parking lot area are those parking spots at? Man im nervous about pulling in on the sand. Just never have done it. I guess i can givebit a try n see what happens. And when sand camping do they have actual spots or is the 5 vehicles 20 ppl just classified as an area that many ppl are allowed to be in? We usually just do the campspots so dont know much about the sand

what are some options for lodging if guys make it from out of state (fly in)

Joe

Buy a cheap walmart tent and sleeping bag and stay in my camp lol
Hey so what spot exactly will you be staying in? Not saying im gona invade your camp spot but id like to get our groups camped rather close by so we dont have to walk cross country to hang out. Everybody we are bringing will have tents and campers/trucks and ofcourse the bbq’s... also do you think we will be able to have a fire this time of year? Oh and for anybody else that would like to ride before this 250r trip we have a huge group of guys going the june 23rd-30th at winchester. We will be in discovery point campsite and would be cool if any of you guys can come and ride any of thise days. Will be a jerry hall zilla and cheetah cub banshee in this group so id like some help kicking ass if anybody wants to id greatly appreciate it lol the same bikes will be at the 250r meetup also if that is cool? They wont be in any photos or anytging but they are family and i ride till i die with them.

Well i have not been on this forum in a long time. Was looking for some info on an engine build and see this post on the unread topics.. but i will definitely be down there this year for the meetup i am going to put the dates in for work and should have about 3-4 more R’s with me!! Im stoked and cant wait. My budddies said they are excited as well.. i would say some good ideas ive read already would be some drag races-bbq- and photoshoot!! Ill check back on this forum to see what yall have to say about the trip.
We will be happy to have your group there patman! Last year we did a group ride Saturday and Sunday at 2pm. I think we should at least keep that going this year.

Hell yea man this should be some good times then!! As for the bbq i say we should just all bring some bbq’s and cook our own food for the group. Have some brews and check out the bikes and shoot the sh*t.. get to know everybody.. ive met a few R owners on the facebook page and have some rides set up with them. Ima try n gather everybody i know with an R to come out and ride!! The east coast guys had a ton of bikes. I know theres gota be alot out here man.

Dude great job on ordering the JD performance arms!! You would have been pissed with the quality of the American star arms and down the road would want something better so you did the smartest thing you could do and bought quality right off the bat!! Good job on that!! Post some pics of your front end setup when you get it all installed!!

Engine and Bottom End / 363 sphynx build questions????
« on: February 17, 2016, 04:42:19 AM »
You should do a esr 363 with a solid bottem end , cr ignition, 38-41.5 carb, big bore pipe!! I sent neil
my esr350 and man it hauls!! I asked for an all around porting and was thinkin it was goin to be mostly low to midrange, which believe me was really snappy down low.. I had a +4 swingarm on there and the wheels would lift really easy!! And quickly!! But man i was shocked when riding wide open for long strethes, my quad was pulling really modded banshee's in 6th pinned like they were outta gas!! When we would stop after  what seemed like forever, all the banshee guys were asking me what all was done to my bike??? Lol. Plus not alot of ppl see the trx250r anymore where i ride!! Everybody wants to see and ask about it. I guess 4 strokes are easier or somethin idk.. Neil helped me every step of the way and answered all my questions!! Id stay with your first choice no matter the build!! Neils work can easliy be found on the websites!! No complaints that i have found and very respected by those who ride out on an engine he built
