Bought these then sold the bike. Forgot to give them to the new owner.  Raise the bars 2 1/4" and go from 7/8 to 1 1/8 inch bars using the stock stem.  I bought them for the vibration dampening and cause im a little taller and the handlebars would hit my knees in some situations.  Asking $80 shipped.

throw that thing away and get a oem asap
I had considered it prior to taking it on its first real ride but it didn't give me any issues all day and doesn't have any kick back when starting.  I know most people aren't a fan of them but this one seems to be working just fine.

Took it to St.Joes State Park two weekends ago and it ran great all day, no issues at all. Ordered a new case saver and anti vibe handle bar risers for it as well. Still looking to sell would also consider trades for jeep Cherokee or Wrangler.

I hate to do it since I just bought the bike a couple months ago but I’m buying my first house and need the extra cash. 1988 250r motor completely gone through in 2012 and have receipts for everything done then totaling over 3 grand. When I got it, it had fmf fatty head pipe, re-sleeved stock cylinder and new wiesco on first bore, v force reeds, uni airfilter, newer sprockets and new chain, ricks motorsports cdi, nerf bars, Ims oversize gas tank and moose billet clutch basket and clutch kit.

Since I got it I have replace exhaust seals/springs, tm design chain slider, steering stem bushing and bearing, headlight bulb, new grips, brand new take off 450r shocks, new front wheel bearings, JD performance +2 a arms with new balljoints and new delrin bushings, stainless front brake lines, front plastic grommets, replaced cracked swingarm, new swingarm bearings, freshly packed pipe, 38mm 4 vent pwk, new throttle cable and carb cap, upp 38 mm intake boot, rebuilt stock kicker, and new chromoly tie rods and tie rod ends. All the fluids have been replaced and everything has been greased and adjusted, this thing is ready to go I just wasn’t planning on getting a house this soon. The plastic are all oem with the only crack above the headlight and the front right mounting point was broke off and replaced with an aluminum bracket which you can’t even really see. Compression was 185 on a cold motor and leak down held 9.5 psi only loosing .5 psi after 15 minutes. Long post but I wanted to get everything out there. Looking for $3,000 OBO. Located in St.Louis.

Carburetor, Intake, and Exhaust / jetting help
« on: July 01, 2014, 10:18:42 PM »
Finally got it running today with the 38 mm pwk from the_steve_man.  Running a 165  main and a 55 pilot. Bottom end is pretty rich and top could go maybe 2 or 3 jet sizes down but that can all be worked out with some time. Thanks for the help guys.

Looking for a motor side intake boot that is still pliable with no cracks. Going to be going on a 38mm carb so it needs to stretch.

Carburetor, Intake, and Exhaust / jetting help
« on: June 06, 2014, 07:11:29 AM »
Pulled the float bowl off and manually pushed the float up with the fuel petcock on, no fuel cam out with even the slightest pressure applied so i know that isn't the issue. Put the new B8EG plug in gaped at .020 and same thing, no change in idle or throttle response. I pulled the reeds off to make sure they were in good shape and they looked perfect so cross that off the list. The intake port and reeds were soaked in fuel though. I've ruled out transmission fluid, the level has not changed at all and the fluid still looks clean as can be. I'm running out of ideas on what to check without completely replacing the carb.
