Market values for 250r

Had an idea for a thread to compile sort of a market value for the 250r. The idea is simple, you post a pic of the quad how you bought it, give a brief description of the condition, price paid, and location. Over time a nice little database will be built up to give people an idea whether or not the 250R they are looking at is a good deal or not. Or it will just be a spot for people to brag about their awesome score, either way.

Very rough, but ran and moved. Needs completely rebuilt. $1000.00  Gillette, WY

Paid 3k, came with a brand new set of paddles and black rims, riding boots, helmet, and a full tank. had new maier plastic, new a-arms, Fox floats on front, and New 450r tires/rims.. But also came with a missing piston circlip and a good gouge in the cylinder that I didn't know about.  All I did was put some 88 decals and an elka rear shock.

Had my buddy's 310 while re doing my motor.

I bought this 1988 250r for $1500 it needed some electrical work as it didn't run. It did come with what turned out to be $700 in extra parts and i had to put about $150 back into it, so as i see it i'm still into it for less than 1k. It was a very low hour ATV and i already had factory 88 plastic waiting for it at home. So i dressed it back up into its birthday gear! It runs ABSOLUTELY PERFECT!! I let the wife ride it on the trails at my family plot of about 32 acres last Sunday, on Monday she asked if we were going riding this weekend! I think she is hooked! Bought in Tennessee.

$1600 with a set of paddles and front dune tires. He wanted $2k, but I told him the going rate for his bike was $1600 and he could keep the extra tires. He included them anyway. Already had dune tires, so I sold the front and the backs for $140. The bike sat outside, so it wasn't perfect, but not bad for sitting uncovered. I had to clean the carb, bleed the front brakes and the front a-arms were rusty so I covered with black rattle can paint. The Hi-Flite seat got shaved down. The foam was shot, but I used it anyway. The twist throttle got replaced with a thumb throttle. Did the clutch mod and update. Removed the parking brake. Put a bigger slow jet in the carb. Replaced the bars that were bent. The front end had some issue, tried to straighten that out. The first ride turned my perfect white brittle plastics into shave and shave till you can't shave no more.

Hopefully it is not hot!  Did you try and register it yet?  These type of deals always make me nervous.  Hopefully it is all good....that is a helluva a deal.  Someday I will stumble on a deal like that.

Paid $3,250 cash earlier this year.  Had to drive 4hrs from PA to MI to get it.  It has every nut, bolt, sticker, key, tire, etc that came with it from factory Honda.  The plastic has some light spider webbing but is otherwise perfect with no cracks anywhere and the Engine has never been opened.  The seat is flawless.  I bought it from the original owner with registration and the factory owners manual.  It even came with some rust on the A-Arms.  But then again, everything in Detroit from the 80's has rust on it - LOL.  My deal wasn't dirt cheap like some I'm seeing but I've wanted this quad since I was 16.  It was worth what I paid in my opinion.  Plus, I didn't want to buy one sight unseen from the West Coast and pay another $500 to ship it home...

yeahhh....I don't know if its hot or not but im not taking a chance on it... its been in my garage the whole time.. haha never tried to register it cuz about two months after I got it I found a clean 89 frame with no damage at all for $400 with clean title that's already in my name.. its somewhat taken apart as of this weekend.. found out the cases are cracked, top end needs to be rebuilt, needs misc bolts here and there, since I took some off to complete my current running R!! haha
i forgot to mention that the bike was not running when i got it... they couldn't figure out what the problem was... so when i brought it home it took me about 20min and got it started after i clean the carb put fresh fuel and change the ignition... :welcoming:
