Some questions for setup
« on: May 05, 2014, 08:37:04 PM »
Just want to know what you guys are using for kill switches. Dont need anything crazy. Just want a button and not a tether. Also an easier install if thats possible. Also i would like to know what you guys think i should run sprocket wise for my setup. Does woods riding and dune riding make a difference? Also what would be a good chain to buy?
Does anybody have a setup close to mine? Whats a good starting point on jets and needle?
Lots of questions just dont wana make 10 different posts

My setup will be
esr 350cc stock stroke, all around porting by neil
trx5 stnd pipe
38mm a/s carb
Stock ignition
v force 2 reeds
+3 swinger
hoping to have a min of 210 psi compression, 110 race fuel ofcourse
let me know if i need to put any more info

Is the tether worth it? Or is that more of a racing thing?

I take it your stock kill switch is gone? I have tether on some and push button on others. I prefer the push button as I have no place to hook the tether. Yes its for racing.

Invest in a tether switch. I learned this the hard way. I pulled a wheely in third once and hit the grab bar and fell off the back on my bum. Well..my R went coasting down the hill bc it was still running bc I had no tether switch and went chasing after my quad. Haha.
I run xc and use a 14front 38rear. Also I use a d.I.d. x ring chain.

Sweet. Ill take that advice. 14 and 38. Do you think it would be the same setup from sand to dirt? I will be riding both this year.

Pro Design or Pro Armor tether switch's are both good, around $30-$39 dollars.. Tusk makes one as well that looks pretty much the same but is a bit cheaper, around $20.. I think Pro Armor has a mounting kit that makes things easier but it looks to be about $30 over the price of the kill switch.
