when i got this it had the center mount ESR TRX5 pipe and silencer. so there was no air box on it as the silencer is under the seat. so 2 things, i wanted an air box and i wanted a silencer in the stock location out the back, because the Missile kit rear fender has a bump out that is made to go around the silencer.
so i now put on a full CT exhaust system with a show chrome pipe, and i also got an aluminum air box. i powder coated the air box black and put a K&N filter with an outerwear on it. in the instructions with a missile kit it says that u may have to modify the bottom back of the air box because of the tire maybe hitting it. so this aluminum air box i got has a very steep angle to the back of it, almost following the subframe rails. so this should also clear the rear tire once it is a reverse trike.
as i was test fitting the missile rear fender, it also hit the radiator overflow bottle on the TRX. it is mounted to left side of the subframe. i assumed i would just have to cut the missile fender to go around the bottle, or run no overflow. well with some research i found that u could mount a polaris predator over flow bottle to the side of aftermarket TRX250R aluminum radiator shrouds, which the TRX already had on it. these were aluminum and i wanted them black also. so i measured and drilled the holes for the predator overflow bottle, then sand blasted the shrouds and powder coated them black, then mounted up the new overflow bottle. now i can remove the stock overflow on the subframe and dont have to trim the missile fender at all.
i also got all the fender braces on finally, so that is all very solid and not bouncing around at all. and i went ahead and bolted in the front elkas. still have to do the +2+1 lodestar a-arms i got, but it was just very tempting to do the shocks because it was fast to swap out. oh and i took the ugly nerf bars off it.
so nest will be the a-arms and the durablue sway bar. then it will be ready to have the missile rear end swapped!
