Howdy Folks,

I have a 1987 250R. It is mostly stock, but has been ported and polished. Also, i have added nerf bars, 1 inch wheel spacers on the back and flipped the wheels on the front. What i mean by "flipped" the tires on the front is:

unbolted them
spun them left to right 180 degrees
 and bolted them back on

What this did was make the front of my bike wider (48 inches). So, with the (1 inch) wheel spacers in the back and the flipped front tires my bike sits at :

Front- 48 inches wide
Rear-47 Inches Wide.

This has made my bike ride through a track much faster. It is no longer as nimble and it is now harder to turn it around on a dime, but is much more stable through turners. I kept the rear narrower than the front as to prevent it from having the same dimensions/ problems as a 3 wheeler (tipping).

Other adjustments that i have made to the bikes  are to the stock suspension. I ride with the suspension set on the hardest setting (5). I weight 230 lbs and this is great for me. I am currently working on setting the rear suspension to a place where i am happy (i currently hate it...too loose).

I am unfortunately not made of money, but do plan on explaining the effect/reasons/ price of any adjustments i make to my bike. I am currently considering adding a cool header onto it, because the port and polish is robbing my low end power (I miss that power). If any of you have recommendation as to which cool header i should buy; please share. Also, i want to throw new rear tires onto it. It is currently on the stock tires ( i don't know if they are from the factory stock, but are the same as the ones described in the Honda factory description). They are 20-10-9 tires and i hate them. I want to put motocross style 20-11-9 tires on it, but have to wait for another tooth to fall out to get money from the tooth fairy.

Thanks for reading!

Hopefully i can learn about your bikes, and hopefully what i know about my bike can help us beat the stupid 450's ( i really like beating 450's).

Welcome to our forum. Lots of great members willing to help out anytime. I have all 87 years and buy offset wheels like what you have converted too. Yes, its harder to turn on a dime but its a much more stable ride. Show some pics if you can.

this is the best 250r forum.  the others are sub-par.  this was created by guys that put the 250r ahead of anything else.  one guy skipped his kids baptism to go riding.haha
