How to ship an axle for $19
« on: September 28, 2017, 04:45:35 AM »
I found a great way to get cheap shipping on an axle. This one is going to Hawaii & since shipping there is so expensive I ended up just cutting the axle into 3 piece's & was able to get it into a large flat rate box with the sprocket hub still on. Since the axle is hollow it will be easy to put a piece of 3/4" rebar in there for reinforcement & weld it back together. Have fun with the fab work Josh :)

Maybe use some bolts on the slugs so it can always be taken back apart for future shipping LOL

You could cut another axle apart but at different lengths. That way you would have options as far as axle width goes. So like a quick change axle for trails or track lol!

If you used a long enough slug you could make different width spacers so you wouldn't have to cut up a second axle.

You know to make it so anybody could make it. Maybe use sleeve retainer on the slugs. So with some heat it can be taken back apart.
