What is it,basically I dont think I've ever seen the 4 holes drilled in the intake? 2 lead to the sleeve and the other 2 go straight through. Its obviously been ported in the transfer ports but no ID markings on it. It also has a thick sleeve. Would this be worth boring to resell,not looking to make a killing as I get machine work super cheap,more of a quick flip to help out anybody that needs a cheap cylinder,thanks!

they are just trying to get more air thru it, but at the expense of a little more piston wear, probably not see much gain from if it actually did improve flow into the cases. 86 are considered the highest flowing intakes already but not as good in the transfer shape

Thank you,maybe I will slap a fresh bore on it and throw it on ebay. Just didnt know if it would be worth boring($25) to sell someone a cheap fresh cylinder

looks like someone attempted to do boyesen ports but didn't know about the angles and location for them to work.

Not saying they dont work or I would not run it myself, I am just not so sure it will end up being something better than if it would have been left stock. And more than likely it will have slightly more wear on the piston

If when your selling it & the question comes up about those holes, just tell them it was the owners idea for extra cooling of the piston :sign0157:
Anyways, what ever the reason or idea behind who ever did it, it not as crazy of an idea as a turboed crank, a turboed head dome or the power burst trenched dome that Nac's offered.
The very first things I remember, that came out years ago & was suppose to be such a fantastic HP improver, but really amounted to nothing, Reed Spacers & then that Roost Boost ignition enhancer.

Hummm, maybe I need to come up with something to draw in big money off of,,,,,, NO!,,, cause that would put me in the same catagory as the OEM MFGs & these worthless 4 pokers on the market thats robbing racers every day.

ktm did them same type of holes on the 400cc engines. im sure it had some type of positive affect other wise they wouldnt of bothered. but the question is, how much did it help. strangely though, none of their bigger or smaller engines had the holes
